Quick question — I’m about to get my MacBook Air replaced by the retailer (Currys) under the Consumer Rights Act after Apple multiple failed repairs. The retailer has advised they do not do any transfer process, they just erase my current Mac, and hand me a new one.
The replacement will be a like-for-like unit, but I already have AppleCare+ on my current device.
Does anyone know what happens to the AppleCare+ in this situation?
- Does it automatically transfer to the new device?
- Or do I need to contact Apple to move it over?
- If it can’t be transferred, do they refund the remaining time so I can buy it again?
- Can it even be transferred?
Just want to make sure I don’t lose the coverage when I swap devices.
