What planning tools are you using?

I started in a new role leading fp&a and am wondering whether people are still buying planning tools or building something in house using Claude.

The challenge with tools is that I find they generally require your model structure to be relatively stable or you end up needing more consulting hours.

At the same time, our excel model is slow and you can’t manage access controls and share broadly across the leadership team.

We are a late stage pre-ipo company.

Curious to hear how other teams are thinking about building with Claude vs buying a tool, or both.

How did they do?

Does this look acceptable for insulation for my remodel?

My instinct says some of it looks kind of sloppy but don’t have a sense for what’s acceptable.

Should we close off this opening?

Hi! We’re doing a large scale remodel/expansion.

Considering closing off the right side opening between the living room and family room to accommodate a larger couch in the family room (room with the fireplace)

In the living room, we plan to split into 2 halves.

  1. Along the wall with the window, we plan to do an office with glass.
  2. Along the wall with closed off opening, we’d do a playpen for the kids.

Not concerned about light in the family room since we’ll have skylights and large windows.
