I just had the loneliest summer of my life and I realized today that the people that I thought were my friends do not message me unless they need something and I can no longer pour from an empty cup. There is no point in even looking at my phone anymore honestly. Just trying to find someone that I can actually build a lasting friendship with and I’m starting to lose hope in finding a genuine friendship honestly. I’m a healthcare worker, I have 2 daughters that are in elementary school, and I have adhd which has been the biggest struggle of my life with regards to finding friends.

Tonight, I’m feeling down.

I’m searching for a friend who genuinely cares about me and shows up for me. I want someone who doesn’t just take from me, someone who is genuine, loyal, and dependable. I’m struggling to navigate motherhood and life in general. I hate being hurt by people, but I hate being lonely even more. It seems like I’m constantly investing in people for friendship only to be set aside for petty reasons or no reason at all. I’m 41 years old, I have two daughters, aged 8 and 10, I work in healthcare, struggle with adhd, and I live in southern Maryland. I’m putting my feelings out into the universe and praying that whoever is meant to find it will.
