if i was to use pokemon from the bonus discs for the mt. battle challenge (jirachi, celebi and pikachu) would they still be able to be used for the Ho-Oh and the ribbon, or does it have to exclusively be pokemon you caught and purified in-game?
I've heard both as answers but nothing definitive, and for my big challenge i'd like to know that for sure.
So with the eventual closure of Pokémon bank, I sped up my plan to get a Japanese gamecube, and I plan to catch every single obtainable Pokémon in the entire game. This includes the e-reader Pokémon (I actually own all the e-reader cards necessary for it) the bonus disc Celebi/pikachu and jirachi (I have both of those too) and ho-oh (that one will miserable im sure)
I plan to not evolve any of them so I can have a Pokémon colosseum ‘living dex’ of them all in their purest forms, and then use the resources available in future games to buff the absolute shit out of them all to be as peak performance as possible.
I don’t think I have it in me to shiny hunt any of them and time has most definitely run out to spend like an entire year to try and do that, but i hope I can get lucky. I wanna be able to bring the whole gang wherever I go like the weirdo I am.
My only worry aside from the absolute slog getting ho oh will be is navigating the entire game in Japanese where I can’t understand any of it. If not for the bonus disc and the e reader Mon I wouldn’t bother, but I didn’t buy that stuff for nothing
It’s gonna be sad to say goodbye to colosseum after it being part of my personality for my entire childhood, but cathartic at the same time to finally get this dream of mine fulfilled
(I was debating on if I could use action replay to make them all shiny automatically so they’re extra special, though I heard that Home doesn’t let you upload Pokémon who are modded in any way, so that’s probably out of the question.)
simon is one of my favorite characters to play in this game, but i just fought a richter who basically did nothing but throw projectiles and run away the entire game. I managed to barely beat him, but that cant possibly be the BEST way to play the character, right?
i play simon very aggressively, approaching often with down tilt and walking ftilts, throwing projectiles mostly as get-off-me tools or to try and secure a kill (with axe). I lose a decent amount, but i feel like i can attribute that to my own lack of skill. I don't want to believe that optimal play is literally just projectile spam.

this steve had a much higher GSP than me, and i beat him in multiple matches, this one i think just showed off how simon imo actually has a relatively decent matchup against steve.
axe and fsmash go through blocks, cross can destroy minecart in one hit and hit steve, and of course simon heavily outranges him. The only real issue is obviously simons horrible recovery which is just his weakness against everyone else.
i didnt play optimally of course, but i still think i played the matchup relatively well. I think people are sleeping on this matchup, but no one bothers playing simon, so no one will ever probably put him to any use against the steves. He's one of the most well equipped characters for fighting steve imo.
my most wanted is Crash but all i had was that picture of N.Gin whoops

this person was a game and watch main who played 3 stock stamina mode on FD with final smash meters on and no items
their strategy was to just spam G&W aerials constantly and run away the entire time because in stamina there was no knockback scaling, and once they got their final smash it would be extremely hard to avoid and would just kill you outright if it hit
of course they also teabagged after every stock and said that it was a disappointing match afterwards
I genuinely don't understand why people like that even bother playing the game, they're only in it to piss off genuine players and to make people hate them. Why? What do you get out of that? It takes no skill, you aren't proving anything to anyone, you just exist to be an annoying waste of time. I don't think i'll ever make another post here because im not a rager (i just like to read other people being mad for fun) but i felt like this guy needs to be mentioned for the sheer audacity of their playstyle. I hope every person they ever fight blocks them so they can never fight anyone else again.
