Tips for polishing a brass lamp stand

Hi,

I just spent the last hour polishing this lamp stand that I got from the salvos, is there anyway to improve the polish at the top?

Is it just the texture of the brass and will be a bit darker no matter what?

Any tips or advice will be appreciated!

Thankyou

Is it possible to ask for more money after I already signed a contract?

Hi please see below for some context,

I have been offered two 'Estimating' jobs in South Australia that I like but feel that I might have undervalued my worth and would really appreciate a second opinion.

Job A: Estimating Commercial Furniture office fit outs with training for a Production Planning role for $65,000 + super that's a bit closer to my house

Job B: Estimating Carpet/Laminate fit outs with a potential insurance pipeline for $75,000 + super that's an hour bus ride

I prefer Job A because the office culture seems a bit more my age and I could ride to work and try to be more fit. Unfortunately, I was super nervous during the interview and when they ask me my expected salary I choked and said $65,000.

I did mention that after the training I would expect a pay bump for the new role and Job A mentioned that they do annual salary reviews every financial year.

I have 2.5 years experience estimating Pallet Racking, but no degree and I also messed up and signed both Job A and B's offers they sent me.

Is there any way to retroactively ask for a bit more money?

I appreciate any advice, thank you so much!!
