Is the setting going to be too high?

Hi everyone! I’m finishing the designs on the engagement ring for my girlfriend and have been nervous that the setting’s going to be too high. I asked my designer and she said the entire setting from top to bottom is ~7mm, with the center stone depth being 5.10mm.

The center stone is around 3 cts and I’m just worried it’s going to be this huge and top heavy ring that can slide easily.

What do you guys think? Is there space to lower it?

Should I leave off engraving in case of resizing?

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share one of the final CAD designs for the engagement ring I’m building my girlfriend :) it has two engravings: “mahal” on the shank closest to the ring and then her name in my handwriting on the sizing bar.

Everything is almost perfect, but I just have a nagging voice saying that I should leave the sizing bar clean just in case she wants to resize in the future (although I do have her current ring size)— and I wouldn’t want her feeling bad about ruining the engraving. What have others done, and has anyone been in this scenario?

Thank you so much!

From,

An eager-to-propose boyfriend

Which engagement ring design is more practical?

I’m proposing to my girlfriend later this year (YAYY) and am deep in the design stage for the engagement ring. She likes traditional oval-cut rings that have a unique, floral-inspired flare. I am having trouble deciding between two design choices, both inspired by rings from the Bijou Lab floral vintage collection. The first one with clusters of pink diamonds is inspired by the Montreal ring, and the second one is inspired by the one-of-a-kind Tuscany ring.

It might come down to an issue of practicality. She may like the “Montreal-style” ring better, but I’m afraid it’ll be easy to get caught on things, or the band will have to be pretty thick to hold all the accent stones. Or also that the accent stones will have to be a lot smaller or have a higher risk of falling off if not set very cleanly.

I would like to get first impressions or hear first-hand experience for those that may have similar rings! Inspo pictures are attached :) *also disregard the engraving, and know that I want the arches for the accent stones to be raised and melt into the basket*

Thank you so so much!!
