Witness of violent crime supports?

Tagged as medical because I'm looking to get in touch with psychiatric help in this situation. Not in any way an active threat to myself or others!

Last month I was a key witness to an incredibly violent stabbing/slashing, and I ended up at the police station to give a report. The detective who took my statement gave me a card with the case number as well as some phone numbers to call if I needed anything (in regards to therapy or psychiatry) or remembered any other details.

Since then, I've had incredible difficulty sleeping and getting out of the house and find myself on edge, constantly agitated and paranoid as well as assuming people are going to attack me whenever I've been in public. I've tried calling the numbers on the card but they don't seem too keen on assisting me with psychiatric help or just ask if there's anything else I'd like to add to the case instead of answering any questions I have about witness/victim support.

I'm unsure what to do as I can't pay for therapy or psychiatry on my own dime and insurance won't cover it, and my quality of life has been severely impacted and I'd really like to get back on track. I've been on the RCMP/Police & government website (hard to navigate and somewhat unclear of who to contact). Is there any other routes or direct contacts I should be taking and getting in touch with? Is therapy and psychiatry even something that is offered to witnesses? Do I just need to save up and pay for it out of my own pocket?

Anything helps. Thank you for reading.

I'm so excited for friends to visit

title says it all! I have some friends visiting me in a few weeks and I'm so excited right now i can't even sleep just thinking about it!! I'm so excited to take them all around to show them how beautiful Vancouver is! I planned such a nice itinerary for us all and i'm really hoping it'll help convince some of them to make the jump and finally move over here like they've been discussing for a while now!!!!
