Solo indie dev here — does this App Store marketing performance look good, or is there something obvious I'm missing?

I'm a solo indie developer and my iOS app launched 3 days ago. It's an underwater photo restoration app that runs entirely on-device (no generative AI or cloud processing).

I started doing some promotion in TikTok and divers community and these are my App Store Connect numbers so far (screenshot attached).

  • 234 impressions
  • 72 product page views
  • 45 first-time downloads
  • 43.4% conversion rate

Since this is my first app, I honestly don't know how to interpret these metrics. The conversion rate seems decent, but the sample size is still quite small.

I also noticed something interesting. When I search the App Store for "underwater color restore", my app isn't the first result, but it consistently shows up around #4.

Since I'm new to App Store Optimization (ASO), I'm not sure how to interpret that. Does ranking #4 for a relevant keyword after only 3 days indicate that my ASO is on the right track, or is that keyword probably too niche to mean much?

I'd love to hear from developers who have been through this before:

  • Are these numbers encouraging for the first 3 days?
  • Is a 43% conversion rate considered good?
  • Should my next priority be increasing impressions, or improving my App Store page (screenshots, description, etc.)?
  • Any obvious red flags or opportunities you notice?

I'd really appreciate any feedback or advice. Thanks!

Not sure if this app is for everyone, but it’s free if anyone wants to give it a try.

Hi everyone!
A couple of weeks ago I shared that I was looking for scuba divers to help test my app. Thanks so much to everyone from this community who volunteered and shared feedback, it has been incredibly helpful.

The Android version is still in Google Play Closed Testing, but the iOS version is now live on the App Store.

I wanted to share a bit more about why I built it.
After every dive trip, I’d come home with hundreds of underwater photos. I always planned to edit them, but restoring the colors one by one took so much time that most of the photos just stayed in my gallery.

So I ended up building this simple app called JellyFix that uses on-device AI to restore underwater photos with one tap. It’s designed for quick color recovery rather than replacing Lightroom or other professional editors.

I’m still looking for feedback from fellow divers. If anyone is interested in trying it, I giving out Apple Offer Codes that unlock the Pro version for free. I’d really appreciate any feedback, good or bad, as long as to help improve it.

If you’re interested, leave a comment or send me a DM and I’ll send you an Offer Code.
Happy diving! 🤿

I have 12 Android Testers for Google Play Closed Testing but I'm looking for additional testers who are scuba divers for real world testing.

Hi everyone,

I'm a scuba diver and software developer, and I've been working on an Android app called JellyFix. It uses on-device AI to restore underwater photos by recovering lost colors and improving image quality.

I'm currently going through Google Play Closed Testing and already have enough testers to meet Google's requirements, but I'd really like feedback from fellow divers who regularly take underwater photos. Since many scuba communities don't allow app promotion, I thought I'd check if there are any developers here
who also dive and enjoy underwater photography.

What's included?

  • Free access to the Pro version during testing
  • Unlimited photo restoration during the test period
  • No payment required
  • AI processing runs entirely on your device (your photos are never uploaded)

I'm mainly looking for real-world feedback on image quality, usability, and how the app performs with actual underwater photos from different diving conditions.

Step 1:

Join the tester group using your Gmail account:

https://groups.google.com/g/jellyfix-external-tester

Step 2:

Join the Google Play closed testing program.

Then you can opt in through this page:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oceandimana.jellyfix

Feel free to upgrade to Pro version and give it a try. I'd really appreciate any feedback and suggestions.

Cheers and safe diving!

Looking for Android Testers for an Underwater Photo Restoration App 🐠📸

Hi everyone,
I’m an indie developer and underwater photography enthusiast. I’ve built an Android app called JellyFix that uses on-device AI to restore underwater photos by recovering colors and improving image quality.

I’m currently in Google Play Closed Testing and need a few volunteers to help test the app.

What’s included?
Free access to the Pro version during testing
No payment or purchase required
AI processing runs locally on your device (no photo uploads)

What I need from testers
Install the app through the Google Play testing link
Keep the app installed for at least 14 days (Google Play requirement)
Try it on some of your underwater photos and share any feedback or bugs you find.

If you’re interested, please send me a DM with the Gmail address associated with your Google Play account, and I’ll add you to the testing group.

I’d especially love feedback from divers, snorkelers, and underwater photographers who regularly work with underwater images. Feel free to leave any comments. Cheers
