im going to into first year at utm starting sept and im kinda anxious abt making friends there, everyones saying that the social life is dead, but i rlly wana make friends and find my people and have a fun uni experience (as much as possible for a utm student)... does anyone going into first year, or even older ppl wanna connect on insta?? im a pakistani lesbian, theatre kid, i love movies, im only going into MCS at utm so i can have a somewhat stable degree to fall back on cuz i wanna study film making after undergrad, idk if anyone wna be friends my insta is hani.sdiaryyy thought itd be nice to start getting to know people now instead of later

hey guys im actually so confused about mac rn.. im waiting for mac to accept me for math and stats gateway, and a bunch of people got in last sem (like 3 months ago) with like 85 avg, three months ago i had a 91 avg and i didnt get it for some reaosn even tho i think acceptance is only based on grades, we didnt have to do a sup for it, and i STILL have not heard from them and theres like 2 weeks left and everyone has heard back from mac but my portal still says pending... my avg has unfortunately dropped to an 87 since this sem started, should i just give up all hope and accept that im not getting in? why are they taking so long? are people even doing math and stats? ive barely seen anyone talking about it. all this waiting is genuinely turning me into a psychopath and ruining my life ✌🏾✌🏾

hey guys I got into utm under mathematical and computational sciences, does anyone know if its a good program/worth it? the school is a reasonable commute from my house and i know a few people who go there already, but imscared of the whole uoftears thing.. esp since im going into math. Also everyone has been telling me that there is no social life there and no one throws any partys or makes friends or anything, and i really do want a fun uni experience and to make friends (which might be even more harder for me since im a queer person and ive heard that there arnt plenty of queer people/clubs/spaces and people are homophobic... is this true?) someone please help me im genuinely so lost on what to do, im still waiting on mac but i dont think im going to get into that so!!
