Amazon New Grad SDE 1 USA Interview Scheduled With Only 2 Days Notice. Is It Risky to Reschedule? Please help!

Hi all!

An Amazon recruiter reached out to me 2 weeks ago (05/04) asking for my interview availability. I sent over my availability for this week (Mon–Fri), mentioning that I’ll be out of town in the (now) previous week.

After that, I heard absolutely nothing back for 2 weeks. No confirmation, no tentative dates, nothing. No replies at all. I followed up as well, but no response to that either. Since I wasn’t sure whether the interview was even happening, I ended up extending my stay out of town and scheduling - coincidentally, another interview day after tomorrow (at a different company).

Today, she suddenly emailed me saying my interview is scheduled for the day after tomorrow.

The interview is virtual, so technically I can do it, but I’d really prefer a bit more buffer/prep time than 2 days. I have been prepping, but not quite Amazon-specific prep since, again, I really figured I’m going to be rejected or something as she hadn’t replied.

So do you’ll think it’ll be OK to reschedule (to any time next week)?

At the same time, I’m worried that if I ask to reschedule, the role might get filled/closed or they may look negatively on it.

Also, if I do ask to reschedule, what’s the best reason to give? Should I just be honest? Please help!

Does anyone have a discount code they'd be willing to share, please?

Hi! I know it's a big ask, but I'd be genuinely grateful if anyone had a discount code they'd be willing to share with me.

Opening Capital One 360 Checking on F-1 (Student) visa?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to open a Capital One 360 Checking account, but the application says I need to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

I’m currently on an F-1 student visa and have been in the US for about 3 years. I’m not a US resident for tax purposes yet, but I do have other US checking accounts, an SSN, and an active credit history with multiple credit cards.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation and successfully opened a Capital One 360 Checking account? Did you apply online, call support, or go to a Capital One Cafe/branch?

Just trying to understand whether this is a hard eligibility rule or if there’s a way to apply with additional verification.

Thank you!
