​I’ve booked our tickets and am looking for some feedback on our upcoming 7-night Sri Lanka itinerary (Sept 28 – Oct 5) with my elderly parents. My main goal is to keep travel comfortable and avoid over-tiring them. They are not into hiking or rock climbing. The main highlights for them are enjoying scenic mountain views and relaxed, blue-sky beach time.

​Our hotels are fully refundable, so we can adjust if needed.

​Original Itinerary:

​Sept 28: Land in Colombo \rightarrow Cab straight to Kandy (Stay: Kandy)

​Sept 29: Kandy – Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic & local sights (Stay: Kandy)

​Sept 30: Drive to Trincomalee (Stay: Resort in Trincomalee)

​Oct 1: Trincomalee – Beach relaxation (Stay: Trincomalee)

​Oct 2: Drive to Habarana to break up the return journey (Stay: Habarana)

​Oct 3: Drive to Colombo (Stay: Colombo)

​Oct 4: Colombo city exploration (Stay: Colombo)

​Oct 5: Fly out from Colombo

​A few questions for the sub:

​Travel Distance & Fatigue: Is the Kandy -Trincomalee - Habarana -Colombo route manageable for elderly travelers by private cab, or does it involve too much time on the road?

​Weather in Trincomalee: I chose Trinco in late September/early October hoping for blue skies and clear beach weather. Does that still hold up for this time of year? Should I plan Mirissia or Weligama instead ?

​Pacing: Could this route be optimized so they get the best mountain and beach experience without feeling rushed? Should I add in some Hindu mythological temples

Basically the title. I do not understand why be a smart innocent when you can play dumb and not be killed by traitors. Any innocent showing some smartness is immediately killed off so why not pretend to be with the herd till you reach the finale ?

I feel like innocents should ensure shield only goes to someone who is helping them catch traitors. I cannot for the life of me think why Rhea tried to play it safe by recommending Krystle to Dalip ? Abhishek needed it the most that night. Same applies to Mallika /Shalini fighting for the shield when it could have gone to Tanya.

I believe next season during the circle of shaq the innocents must also vote for 1 innocent whp gets the shield. That way there is an incentive for speaking up and only dumb contestants do not get far in the show.

Not sure what to tag the story as but when are hiring managers going to drop the obsession with tier 1 colleges. I am not talking about MAANG companies. Even some manufacturing companies have started adding "tier 1 graduate (mandatory)" in their JDs.

And these are jobs anyone with good experience can do. I have around 10 YOE with 4 of them leading digital transformation in Supply chain. Resume was matching and some aspects was ofcourse a stretch but believe your future roles should have a bit of a stretch to keep you challenged. Except this graduate preference ? Not sure if I can call it that if it says mandatory next to it.

I see this only in India. My company is global and unless its a high level strategy role, no one cares about the university. Anyway just a rant.

My father is looking to sell our property that is set to undergo redevelopment but nothing concrete yet in Navi Mumbai. We found an agent whose RERA ID I checked and seems genuine. Hes been asking us to send property documents to verify because he doesnt want to waste time dealing with a property whose documents may not be intact. I get his concerns.

But this is a guy we have never met. My father and I will have to incurr an expense of minimum 20k to visit Navi Mumbai from where we are at now. The agent also gave me a lawyers details to contact and share information incase I do not trust him. While he seems genuine, this is the first time we are dealing with property sale. We have all documents ! Please advice what should be my next steps.

Cant even fcking rant in my friends group because one of my friends is a new mom who takes everything personally. Someone who reports to me is a mother of a toddler. The kid is sick and while I get it, I had assigned a strict deadline and as of 11pm, its incomplete and I am sitting and doing it. If I reprimand her then I am the bad guy right ?

I dont know how to call her out. There are so many mistakes in what shes done and I am tired and I want to sleep but I have a minimum of 1 hour of work. I have my pets waiting to play with me. I know not the same level of importance as a sick kid but what in the ever loving fuck is this. If you are unable to manage at home then maybe hire more help. But why sit and take a fat salary and not show up when it matters. Am I asking for a lot. Being a bad manager ? I have continued to give this person chances throughout her tenure but come next 1-1 and I will rip her a new one because I am tired of being made to feel like my time matters less because I do not have children.

My father 67M, non smoker, BMI 18 diabetic and under medication. While in good health, he always had mildly raised LDL. He was avoiding statins from a long time. I would get an ecg plus echo done every year and everything would be normal.

He got his hscrp test done in 2024 and that was normal too. However I was always weary of his LDL and took him to a doctor who put him on bisoprolol 2.5mg and rosedayz ez 10/10. Because he was still hesitant to take it a cardiac score was done and it was as high as 2000.

He called him in 4 months for a routine visit. In this visit seeing that his LDL had dropped to 49 mg/dl, doctor asked him to take roseday ez alternate day. My dad misheard and also started taking his bisoprolol alternate day. After a month I cleared the confusion. Cardio told him to resume his dose.

I am really scared now. Before going on biso my father did mention he would have chest heaviness that would clear on burping. He now says he has nothing along those lines and feels very light. Any further tests I should consider ?

I am 32 turning 33 soon.

I make about 2lpa per month. I do not have a house and live on a rented property with my partner. My father has a small house in Navi Mumbai that is caught up in the redevelopment battle forever. Considering selling it and buying a house in our hometown.

My father and mother stay in a small tier 3 village now. The house they live in is rented but very subisidized. Its a big house. I feel the pressure to buy a house soon but definitely not in the city my partner and I live in. While I have some decent savings, my worry is not alwags having a steady source of income thanks to AI and stuff. I feel I would be relieved if I had a home in my hometown.

But beint debt free has its pros. I was recently able to take my parents on a fully self funded international trip. Its been a dream of mine. I handle their health and splurge expenses but they manage their own day to day expenses.

My monthly expenses go from 60 to 70k which I know is a lot. Truth be told I havent tracked where it goes but my best guess is eating out. What should I do better ?

Edited to add: I want to get married sometime in January. I know it will be a major expense and quite nervous about it.
