Reminder to be kind. You don’t know the story behind a picture.

So… as a actual pretty recent unexpected multiple snakes owner i have noticed that people are kinda quick to judge and make assumptions and be rude. But nobody ever considers that the situation is not always “i wanted a snake so i bought one and now i don’t know what to do” no. In my case i wasn’t even planning on owning a snake in my life like ever… but then i saw a social media post very nearby with a very sad little noodle in a storage box with a stick. A student who got the snake as a gift but was terrified of it so i’m not blaming the student here. But that’s when i came home with my first snake , István a cornsnake. And despite the fact i let myself completely rip off by the store letting them pick everything i needed i still had some things that i didn’t have back then and i got a lot of unhealthy comments over the substrate that was not good among thousands of other complaints. As i was improving István’s living conditions and learning i suddenly got a weird message (i had some tarantula slings for sale) a person who wanted to switch a spider for a snake. It just felt weird and off so i went to take a look at the snake , owner had some issues that needed some intense attention and owner was aware of that. So we came to a agreement and i gave him some money for the snake and didn’t give him the spider giving him space to find the help he needed. So suddenly i owned 2 snakes. 3 days later he dropped off a kingsnake aswell, no warning. Suprise now i have 3 snakes. All of them were improperly housed to start out with and i am really trying my best to be a good owner and give them a happy life. But the cheer amount of pure hate i got from people made me hesitant to ask questions because nobody ever considers that there might be a story behind the situation. So this is a friendly reminder to be kind to people especially new snake owners who want to learn and better themselves. Please don’t be that d that comments “you should have educated yourself first” because you don’t know what circumstances surround the situation.
