Butternut Squash vs. Sweet Potato

So I have recently been told that butternut squash tastes very similar to sweet potato and is much less in calories. I tried some Butternut squash today and found it to taste pretty much like zuchinni and less "potato" like. Is there some way to prep these to taste like sweet potato?

Best option to thicken a whey protein shake

I've gone through some options already, Psyllium Husk, PHGG Sunfiber and Glucomannan. I have found Glucomannan thickens the shake quite well without too much change in the flavor. Anybody have other options?

Lidl Fiber Up bars, surprisingly good

These are 90 cal each and decent in size. Very cheap at about 2.50 a box. The fiber makes it have a palatable texture instead of filler and it's very good tasting.

Increasing the volume of rice by adding water?

Occasionally, I've noticed that if I accidentally add a couple of extra grams of water to my rice cooker when cooking a single serving (46g) of brown rice, I notice the rice fluffs up better and volumizes alot more. The flavor is still OK. I put sauce and meat in the rice anyway which wets the rice. The rice isn't overly cooked, just wet and the grains are larger. I usually cook 46g with about 120g of water and this gets me good volume. I was wondering if anyone uses more or less and figured out the best ratio for volumizing.

Improvised low-calorie cake slice

It's not quite cake but it tastes good. What I use is Schmidt 647 Old Tyme white bread. This can be found at most supermarkets. This bread is 40 calories per slice and still tastes very good. I also purchased a small jar of Betty Crocker cake frosting (can be any type). I just use a small dab of the cake frosting and spread it on the bread. It spreads nicely and you can actually use plenty because you're using a butter knife to apply it. I use 7 grams which comes out to about 30 calories. So 40 calories for the bread and 30 calories for the frosting. 70 calories for something that tastes like cake!

How to get almost double the amount of pasta for the same amount of calories

I just thought I'd pass this information along to anyone else who was dieting. I bought this recently at walmart, and it's called "Carbe Diem" pasta. This pasta actually tastes almost the same as real pasta and is much less in calories. Actually, sometimes I mix in regular pasta in it but truthfully it doesn't need it. My pasta bowls are huge now, only about ~170 calories and almost double volume and tastes great. I didn't want to post a link to the product because I don't want to seem like an advertiser. You can find it on walmart's website right now and it's affordable too, not too expensive.
