Lee Cronins The Mummy

yall I enjoyed this movie. yea it had some cheesy lines. but I was creeped out, grossed out and there were some jump scares. I enjoyed it and would recommend it for a good silly horror night.

Anyone got any recs for a modernish take on a 70s rim

After 10 years of renting our landlord is selling our unit. We have been moved out as of May 1. Working with one of her recommended services I have already paid out-of-pocket $850 and received an additional bill of $150 this morning. This was all to get the townhouse into the condition specified in the lease to get our security deposit of $1700 back. the money already paid went towards cleaning and wall repair. These are things that I can agree needed to be done in order to get my deposit back. She is now being very cagey about whether or not I will be receiving any of my security deposit back on top of the money that I have already paid primarily because of an issue where there was some heat damage to the bottom of a kitchen cabinet.

In terms of the heat damage, it was caused by the heat from the toaster under the kitchen cabinet. My issue is primarily that it’s clear the damage was caused by the fact that the cabinets were coated in a cheap vinyl finish that would have never stood up to general kitchen use. Additionally, these kitchen cabinets ran the entire length of the counter space so there would be virtually no place to place a toaster if not under these cabinets, and therefore the cabinets should be able to stand up to use of said toaster.

My first question is whether or not this falls under general wear and tear due to poor materials or if I am at fault?

Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture at this time that I can include of damage to the cabinet, but it is just to the bottom of the cabinet door. The front covering vinyl has dried up and chipped away. The wood underneath is perfectly fine.

I also have a question about the additional $150 charge that is being requested for additional wall repair. The first $850 charge included cleaning that I understand coming out of pocket prior to assessing whether or not I get my security deposit back but this additional $150 charge is for wall repair and I was under the assumption that repairs should be taken out of the security deposit at the end and not paid for out-of-pocket in the beginning. She seems resistant to this and is claiming that the wall repairs should be part of the cleaning fee.

Additionally, I’m a little concerned that if I make trouble, she may come after me for more. When we left the carpets were in pretty bad shape, but she said not to worry about it because she was going to be replacing all the carpets before the unit was sold. Now, after our conversation today where I questioned whether or not the 150 should come out of the security deposit she brought up the fact that she wasn’t charging us for the carpeting. Do I have any reason to worry that she could change her mind about that out of spite?
