Parents of 3 - what’s it like?

I have two boys aged 3.5 and 1.5 - school starters in 27 and 29. Me and my husband want a 3rd for all the emotional reasons but really on the fence with all the logistics - holidays, time spent with each child, money. We pay £2.5k a month for 3 days childcare for both and there’s light at the end of the tunnel when my eldest starts school next year! But we don’t feel done and wonder if although hugely impactful now, it will feel trivial in 10-20 years when they’re grown. We could make it work but probably signing ourselves up to be skint for an extra 4 years or until my current youngest goes to school at least.

People with 3 - how is it? Do you get time for yourself, for each other? Do you have enough time for each child? How do you make it work?

Where to go out now? Haven’t been to Newcastle in almost 10 years!

Hi there - have a girls (in our 30s) trip coming up at the end of this month and wondering where is now good to go out?

A couple of us in the group went to uni here but graduated 10+ years ago so when we were students the best places were on the diamond strip! I don’t think our music tastes have changed drastically since then 😂 looking for good vibes and maybe with people kind of our age rather than student nights!

Thanks in advance - can’t wait to get back up there!

Pre school curriculum for ‘27 school starters

My sons existing nursery have started giving info of what their pre-school curriculum looks like and it seems like A LOT for 3-4 year olds. It’s a private school so it is setting them up for what they ‘expect’ for those continuing on with them but it is very structured eg 3 x 45 min lessons a day with the schools specialist teachers, lunch and dinner in the school hall

We are going to our local village school not the private school and I feel like the curriculum will be totally overwhelming for my young/later developing 3 year old. It’s his last year of fun before school starts! But I wonder if this would be great prep for school life and it’s pretty much in line with other nurseries cost wise with the added benefit of having brill facilities because of the school

What kind of things do you kids do in pre school? Do they do phonics/maths etc or is it all play based learning?
