Origin of the surname "Goodfriend"

I am doing genealogy research for my family and recently came across a couple surnames that were interesting to me. First of all, my mother is Jewish and my father is not Jewish. My last name is Bauer, which is a very common German surname, but it's one of those names that has been adopted by Jewish and gentile German communities.

I've recently been able to track the surname Bauer back to an ancestor of mine named Louis Bauer who was born in Linz, Austria in the late 19th century. After some searching through social security applications I found out that his parents names were listed as Irving Bauer and Beatrice Goodfriend, both of whom were presumably born in upper Austria or Germany, where Louis was from. I assume these names are Anglicized, but the surname Goodfriend stood out to me. What is the origin of the name "Goodfriend" in Germany and Austria? Could this be a Jewish surname?

Could my dad be Jewish?

I am doing genealogy research for my family and recently came across a couple surnames that were interesting to me. First of all, my mother is Jewish and my father is not Jewish (at least I thought so). My last name is Bauer, which is a very common German surname, but it's one of those names that has been adopted by Jewish and gentile German communities, so it's not uncommon for Ashkenazi Jews to have the surname Bauer.

Anyways, no one on my father's side is Jewish or has said anything about being Jewish so I assumed they were just German. Is this a Jewish last name? Could my dad also be part Ashkenazi Jewish?

Part of my family is Polish, and I just came across this surname: "Kieszkowski". How do you pronounce this? Different people in my family are pronouncing it differently, and none of us speak Polish so I want a native speaker's insight.

Basically the title. I (23M) have been in recovery for anorexia for 2 years and I've improved a lot, but one of the biggest hurdles for me is that I will avoid eating in front of others at all costs. If on the rare occasion I have to eat in front of someone, I feel like the meal is "wasted" and I can't enjoy it cause I'm just paranoid and anxious. While I get enough to eat by the end of the day I often skip lunches simply because I don't want to eat in front of people at work. It's also become a problem with my friends because for some reason eating is a "social experience" for a lot of people. Personally, I sort of view eating like going to the bathroom. It's a basic human function, but it's NOT something you would do in front of just anyone.

Does anyone else have the same struggle? Any tips? I know it's holding me back in life, but I am very resistant to changing this part of my ED.
