What to look for in a card issuing partner

My cofounder and I are building a crypto neobank and we've spent the last couple months talking to different vendors for our card program. A lot of the what we talk about with them quickly turns into compliance and operational discussions instead of product and implementation planning. They treat the first few calls like the beginning of a banking partnership review cause the talk is around KYB requirements or onboarding controls but I gotta give it to some amazing providers that were straightforward to deal with. I’m trying to understand which providers other founders/operators have had very good experience with especially smaller teams that needed to move relatively quickly. Would also be helpful to hear whether people intentionally chose the more enterprise oriented providers early or if most teams optimized for speed first and matured compliance later.
