Confused between Gate ,PSU exams and campus placement PLZZ help needed??

I’m currently in my final year of B.Tech (ECE) and I’m quite confused about what direction I should take after graduation. I would really appreciate some genuine guidance from people who have been in a similar situation.

In my 3rd year, I appeared for GATE ECE and scored 47 marks, 601 score (OBC category). I didn’t prepare at the level required for a very good rank, but it gave me some idea about where I stand academically.

Now I’m in my final year. The main issue is that campus opportunities in my college are very limited. Mostly companies like TCS, Deloitte, Hitachi come for tech roles, and after that there are only a few companies with different roles.

On the technical side, I have done MERN stack and some DSA, so I can try for software/tech placements, but I’m not very confident about competing for good off-campus opportunities.

At the same time, I’m considering GATE again, but I’m honestly not interested in doing M.Tech. My thought is that a good GATE score/rank could open other opportunities, but I’m not sure whether preparing for GATE without the intention of doing M.Tech makes sense.

I’m also thinking about preparing for BARC/ISRO and similar exams, but this is making me even more confused because I feel like I’m trying to prepare for too many things at once.

My current options seem to be:

  1. Focus on campus + off-campus tech placements and improve DSA/CS fundamentals.
  2. Prepare seriously for GATE and target opportunities through GATE, even though I don’t want M.Tech.
  3. Prepare for BARC/ISRO/other ECE-related government opportunities.
  4. Keep placements as a backup while preparing for GATE/other exams.

I’m worried that if I divide my time between everything, I’ll end up being average at all of them.

What would you recommend in my situation?

  • Is it worth preparing for GATE if I don’t want to pursue M.Tech?
  • Should I focus primarily on tech placements given my current MERN + DSA background?
  • Are BARC/ISRO and similar exams realistic targets along with placements?
  • If you were in my position, what would you choose for the next 6–8 months?

I’m looking for practical advice, especially from people who have faced a similar situation. Thanks!

How do HR teams in India handle interview scheduling on WhatsApp?

Genuine research question — not promoting anything.

I noticed during my internship that recruiters were spending

2-3 hours DAILY just going back and forth on WhatsApp to

fix interview times.

"Are you free Tuesday?"

"No Wednesday?"

"Morning or evening?"

"Let me check with manager..."

"Sorry that slot is gone now"

10 messages for ONE booking.

Curious if this is a common problem or just my experience:

- How does your team currently handle scheduling?

- How many hours per week does this waste?

- Have you tried any tools to fix this?

Genuine answers only — trying to understand if this problem

is worth solving before building anything serious .
