University of Virginia store sells a foam sword, but it’s a short sword and not a saber like what’s shown in their logo.
The Cavalier mascot doesn’t carry around a Roman gladius sword.

Remy allowed the police department to filibuster the meeting for over an hour, just blathering on in a blatant attempt to piss off the audience. The fact that we need these hearings to convince council to drop Flock is bad enough, but how this hearing was run was a total insult.
I just called a successful applicant and offered them a job. What they may never know is their thank you email literally won them the job.
We had 50 applicants, narrowed it to 8 for interviews, and narrowed that to 3 finalists. All through the hiring process, we used a score card for every pre-written interview question. In the first interview, two applicants were basically tied using the score card. (The interview was also subjective, but our team got the strongest vibes from these two applicants as well.) The final interviews gave us the same result, and our staff was totally split on who to hire.
And then one applicant sent a terrific thank you email that restated their case for being right for the job, and continued the discussion of how they would approach the work.
The other candidate sent nothing.
Both applicants were incredibly talented. Both could do the job on Day 1, hitting the ground with fresh ideas. Both people jumped through multiple hoops and screening calls. But only one person followed the process through to the end.
Canned 6 quarts of chili. Beef, beans, peppers… First time using new pressure canner. Followed canner instructions and Ball book recipe. 90 minutes at 10 psi… Over 2 hours after the pressure returned to zero, and these jars are still bubbling away inside. Is this normal? I’m hoping I haven’t made 6 jars of mush, but I don’t know what it should look like.
Not naming any one specific park, but I do keep seeing video after video of roller coasters getting stuck. What I can’t tell is if it’s an actual increase in occurrence or just that there’s more video of everything so what’s always occasionally happened before looks like it’s constant now.
If you happen to have actual knowledge about roller coaster incident rates, say from a park between Toledo and Cleveland for example, I’d be curious to hear about it.
Anyone know if the new Commodore Callback will be compatible with the Dexcom Share and/or Follow apps?
Grange Homeowners Policy covers watercraft… which I don’t own. This is the “Home boost” section of our homeowner’s policy. There’s several things listed here that we don’t own, including trailers, watercraft, grave markers, whatever landlord furnishings is…
Am I paying extra for coverage for these things, or is this just a standard list for the coverage that exists under my policy? If I ask my agent to reduce the watercraft coverage to $0, would it decrease my premium?
