What is it lacking please ?

What is it lacking please ?

Hi everyone !

I'm trying to finish this painting but I just keep feeling like I don't know what more to add.

I'm not sure how to explain but basically:

I feel like all my paintings are like that, as if somehow I just keep missing someting. If I posted this saying "painting finished!" Would you feel like it looks finished ? Or do you feel like something is missing too ?

I do not aim to do something hyper realistic or anything like that. I'm more aiming towards something closer to Sargent and the likes, painterly at times but smooth at others (I know I'm nowhere near close to do this kind of quality of work but that's to give you an idea)

Everytime I post here I get amazing insights and critiques, so once again, please help me.

Sorry for the angled pic, I work in a room with 2 windows and a big mirror so getting rid of glare is a strugle haha.

Thank you very much !

I spent almost the whole day on this

I just started the Bargue plates study. Here's the first one.

Considering how much time I spent on this one I'm scared for the next ones 🤣

How much time do you guys usually take on a single plate ? (I know they're all wildly different in difficulty and therefore in the time they take but still)

Help-how do I avoid all that dust

Ok, so my question is in the title. Whenever I paint, I get so much dust on my canvas ! I do use an adhesive roller between the finished piece and varnish, because if I don't my canvas is varnished with a whole lot of dust on it.

I always have tweezers with me for taking stuff out while I'm painting but how can I prevent it ?

I know dust is part of life haha, but if I could have less of it it would be great 🙏

Finished this one !

I actually finished it a few weeks ago but I struggled so hard to take a descent picture xD

Right now she's being framed by a very talented artisan and I cannot wait to see it !

It's going to be a baroque frame :)

I promised I would share an update last time so here it is !

Have a nice day and thanks again for all the encouragements last time!! :)

Is this a "normal" growth

Hello, I have fine wavy/curly hair, I've been trying to grow it but it has split ends so easily, so I keep trimming it when I think of it.

I don't use heat except in rare cases where I wash right before going to bed. I tie it in a loose braid at night.

I detangle in the shower with a conditionner and a very kind brush.

I wash it from 1 to 3 times a week (it gets greasy so fast). I use dry shampoo often.

I use castor oil on my lenghts and ends 4 hours before washing (when I can) and I massage my scalp every other day.

Also, I do copper henna a few times a year. Is it too damaging for my hair type ? (I usually leave it for 1 to 4 hours). The brand I use is on the second pic.

I was wondering if this is a normal hair growth ?

Also, if any long curly gurlies out here have some tips on how to take care of fine curly hair I'm listening !

I keep seeing conflicting advices on how and when to brush it for instance. Same for diffusing vs not diffusing for hair care.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day !🙏
