At a loss…

This is my first pool. It’s an Intex ultra XTR with a Krystal sand filter. I add liquid chlorine almost every morning…some sources I’ve found say you should add in the evening due to the UV and chlorine degradation? I had clear water from the beginning of July to the end…I’m not sure what had happened but my water has been cloudy for the past few days. I can still see the bottom, but there are yellow spots. I’ve tried multiple things…brushed the walls and floor with a brush and then ran the filter nonstop for about 16 hours; shocked with liquid chlorine (about a gallon), added Clorox water clarifier…no luck…and when I checked the strips earlier today it showed total alkalinity higher than usual and of course pH higher than normal. I added muriatic acid (about 16 oz) and it’s still cloudy. I’m a newbie, does anyone have any advice? Please see the pics attached. I used two test strips: pool time and Aquachek7. From my perspective of these
most recent results, the total alkalinity is still high and pH as well of course free chlorine and total chlorine seem to be at adequate levels. I’m hoping someone’s dealt with this issue before or can at least give me some advice.

Do not buy from Home Depot online!

I wanted to share my experience with Home Depot online orders so that others do not go through what I did…
Early June I ordered the Intex Ultra XTR 18ft pool. I was assured it would arrive the next Friday, just in time for a birthday party I was hosting. Package never arrived, tracking info showed “shipped” but not “out for delivery.” I called multiple times and HD could not give me any information on the tracking. They reached out to the shipper as well with no information returned. After weeks of calling, random credits applied to the order for the inconvenience, they finally stated that the package got “lost.” How tf do you lose a giant above ground pool box?? Conveniently right after I ordered this, the price jumped $400….coincidence? The only option was to refund the order. It was refunded, I received a $150 gift card…and they had to honor the original price. Item was ordered again. Was told it would arrive the following Monday. Monday comes, nothing. Again, HD stated they could not track the package, and after days of back and forth they stated the only option was to cancel the order and send me a gift card again.

I ordered and received the pool from an outside source. Now just last week I ordered the Confer 7200 A pool ladder from Home Depot for store pick up using the gift card they gave me…oh how I should have known… got confirmation the shipment was ready to pick up. When I go there, I find that it’s the 7200 G gate accessory….no pool ladder…just one piece of plastic. Now I need to travel back with this hunk of junk to return it and get store credit.

All in all do not fall into the same pit of hell that I did, and save yourself weeks of stress.

Thank you.

About to purchase an Intex XTR 18’ 52” . What do I need to know?

Prospective beginner pool owner here and I’ve been reading that a lot of people are happy with their Intex XTRs. What are some things I should know before purchasing or with this purchase, such as maintenance, what to look out for, common problems and headaches, if filter should be upgraded right away, etc.? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated as I am looking to purchase this tomorrow! Was thinking to just pay a local pool company as well to build it for me. Thoughts?

Title is basically the question. Can I use small cuts of fire wood? Or does it need to be the Tiki brand wood bags? I feel like they’re a rip off. Thanks in advance
