West’s strategy of minimally speaking in groups

All signs point to a minimally speaking west in the reunion, and I think it’s important that we understand West does this not because he’s scrambling to find words or doesn’t care, but because he is *very actively* trying to determine in his head what he can and can not say based on his multiple and layered audiences. Oftentimes, there are so many contradictions that silence becomes his choice.

I remember when the season 8 reunion aired, I found it super odd that he was so tongue tied during the whole Ciara thing! He could have apologized in a very direct way for misleading her, but he kind of stuttered and shuffled around points. In hindsight I realize that he did this not necessarily because he was uncomfortable, but because he was toeing a very thin line in terms of the lies he’d been telling women.

We now know that he met and start seeing Montana girl the same exact summer he started to see Ciara, 2023. So by the fall, he was juggling at least Montana girl and Ciara, and presumably others as well. Paige had things slightly wrong. He didn’t just break up with Ciara because of the women to come once the show aired, but because of the women he was *currently* with who would be seeing the show.

He knew Meija would be watching and wondering what the status of this relationship with Ciara was, and so he needed to be able to say it was nothing. That’s why when it came time to face her, he hesitated with a clear apology because he didn’t want to admit to the existence of his relationship at all.

This upcoming reunion, he’s only expanded his audience. Now the situationships are not only watching, they’re known by the cast members. There are quite literally too many constituencies to keep track of. So he’s going to say as little as possible.

Janet wants to be “messy researcher” & “unbothered cool girl” at the same time

I just want to preface by saying I agree with everyone that Danny is abhorrent and Janet was right about him, full stop. Lots has been written on Danny’s behavior last night - but last night’s episode also clarified something about Janet for me, too.

\~\~

What annoys me about Janet is that she won’t pick a lane. She wants to be the gossipy, Reddit-reader, I got your tea, bone carrier. But as soon as she feels the heat from what she shares/says she switches to miraculously being “above it all.” Those aren’t compatible personalities!

When Lacy brought up Janet’s hurtful comment toward her (laughing at her and saying “I read about you. You auditioned for housewives 17 times”) Janet’s immediate reaction was to express skepticism, roll her eyes, and say with a smirk say she doesn’t remember it like that but “sure.”

As a result, Lacy gets upset and rightfully notes that Janet isn’t really taking her grievance seriously. She gives off a very half assed “sorry if you took it wrong way” and then tries to dismiss the whole convo: “I just want to have fun this weekend.” Jesse rightfully calls out that it’s a weak apology because she downplays and dismisses the whole thing and plays the more mature party even when she was gossiping in the first place. If you want to just have fun, you also have to create the conditions for fun.

After Jesse’s callout about her poor apology, Janet switches from downplaying her action to downplaying \*the person\*: “well i guess you’re not going to get a better apology because I just don’t care about you.”

It’s super super rude of her to say that!!! And this is where I can’t stand Jason who never checks his wife. It is not ok to tell someone (especially to their face): “you are nobody and don’t matter.” She says it so casually and honestly it’s cruel. Even Jesse doesn’t deserve that and especially not Lacy who she barely knows! Jason checks Jesse here when he raises his voice but not Janet who is way more mean in the actual content of the words she is saying, even if she’s not yelling.

It is her very casual capacity to tell someone they don’t matter, are worthless, that is what leads to their alienation from her. I want to believe that Janet doesn’t actually \*feel\* that way about anyone in this group (besides Danny perhaps) and is using it as a defense because she is uncomfortable admitting she is wrong. But if she doesn’t actually feel that way, she needs to learn to not take it there in fights.

Inadvertent November timeline confirmation by Fessler???

People have been largely calling Jenn Fessler’s Two Ts podcast a nothing-burger, but Capricorncueen’s overview (thank you!) had me invested in a particular thing she said so I went back and listened and it’s odd to say the least!

While trying to explain her (non)friendship with West, Jenn uses an example of her advising West “after bravocon” to be careful because “she is hearing rumblings and west has just re-gained favor with the audience.”

Starts at about 23:21

This is striking because there are absolutely *no* rumors about west and Amanda as of Nov. 2025 (which is when bravo con took place). The earliest rumors we got were, what, March 2026??

In November there were only the rumors about Amanda and Kyle divorcing/separating. West was not in the picture at all.

Does “after bravocon” in November mean 4 months later in March 2026 when the Deuxmoi rumor first dropped? Seems Jenn is inadvertently admitting that she and other people “friendly” with West were in some way aware of an inappropriate relationship with Amanda over the winter. What else would she be warning him about?

Couple this with Amanda telling Mia from southern hospitality at bravo con that west pregamed with her, I think we have confirmation of a hookup starting in November.

Is Pinky talking about her bankruptcy while being rich smart?

I know some of yall hate when lawyer advice is involved but I have a law question! (With the disclaimer that obviously we can’t dole out official legal advice here).

I am wondering: is filing for bankruptcy something that is more rote and rubber stamped or must it be approved in some way?

I wonder because I find it so odd how Pinky is talking about filing for bankruptcy while also being so insistent on how she is still rich - and “in a different tax bracket.”

I always thought bankruptcy was used by the rich to evade the full weight of creditors, but doesn’t that rest upon giving (at least the appearance of) money troubles? Doesn’t essentially expressing that you’re filing as a means of “starting over” (Pinky’s words) while you have plenty of money in the bank kind of undercut that?

I guess I am wondering if one of Pinky’s creditors can watch this show and be like hmmmmmm and actually, legally, do something about it.

Thank you!!!

There has been a really vocal (but hopefully small) group of fans who think KJ is being extra in how he’s shown anger/disappointment with West (over threads, etc.). And they’re vocal now too over KJ’s decision to read West’s post-reunion text aloud. But KJ has every right to be upset! And he was smart to share the text, even if it was impulsive.

I think KJ is coming to terms with the fact that West’s treatment of women is a reflection of (rather than exception to) his character in general. Since he knew West casually in NY and joined the cast as West’s friend, there is no way he wasn’t aware of West’s womanizing ways. (Indeed even before the scandal broke he was on the wwhl saying West needed to grow up more to deserve Ciara). I think though, post scandal, KJ is coming to terms with the fact that West is just not just a fuckboy, but really not a good *person.*

Getting with Amanda is one thing, but West’s lying and treatment of Ciara is where I think KJ has seen just how selfish and disrespectful West can be.

KJ teared up right along with Mia & Ciara explaining the difficulties of being black on tv (and in predominantly white spaces) and even in the aftermath of that vulnerable talk West played in Ciara’s face so flagrantly. I think that’s a very difficult thing for KJ to overcome as a black friend of Ciara’s (and formerly of West’s). That is a breach of trust and respect, intersecting with racial dynamics, that is very hard to repair.

With the reading of West’s text message, KJ is showing a skepticism toward and lack of respect for West, and quite frankly that is true to how KJ feels about him! The thing about West is that he is a manipulator. He knows what to post on the story (“Gemma nation” 🙄); what to post on grid; what to comment on podcast; what to text privately — all in the interest of getting what he wants.

The past women in West’s life probably know this very well, but KJ is seeing that his manipulation tactics vis a vis communication channels is something that extends to *alllll* his relationships. That text message was damage control, and KJ was right to feel hesitation (even fear) of reading it, with the knowledge that West is never fully forthcoming/always hedging and protecting himself above all. (It’s notable that he only reached out after the reunion (and its first leak) rather than in the intervening weeks when West claimed to have apologized to his castmates).

KJ reading it for the public relieves him of his anxiety in grappling with the words of a liar, and it also ensures that West doesn’t get to make moves in silence.

So from what we know for certain of February based on podcasts & leaks:

A. By end of February Jesse asked Amanda if she’s hooking up with West and she lies and says no

B. By end of February Bailey sees Amanda “jokingly” kissing Kyle

C. West said things “got serious” in February

~~

Well then, why these pictures on a March 1 IG carousel?

Multiple pictures with West. Pictures *with* Kyle while denying to Kyle. Playing in everyone’s face!

This is who she is. Amanda does not give af!!!!

If the audio leak (and subsequent tea) is a true indication of how the reunion went, “In the City” is DOA - and bravo must be finally coming to terms with this.

It is so clear that viewers are hungry for real time updates, and Bravo really hasn’t pivoted in any way besides editing the rest of the season.

But so much has happened in the last 5 months clearly. With Mia blowing up the timeline and saying West and Amanda were getting close as early as September (even if not hooking up) that means that this whole thing was absolutely brewing in the fall while “in the city” taped.

But there is no way that Amanda actually was honest about this on camera. There is definitely going to be footage of west, but there is no way they captured the many late nights they spent together getting closer. What they probably captured is Amanda switching up on Kyle & Kyle not really understanding how Amanda seems to have moved on so quickly.

I really don’t think an audience is just going to sit through a season of Amanda lying. We all suspend disbelief watching reality tv but in this case we know a salient event that is not captured.

What is bravo going to even do??? At the very least I think they should have paid them all so much money to pick up cameras post-statement & have that end the season. Give a little bit of a real time crumb.

Now Bravo is on the back foot, slowly doling out episodes that are well past their expiration date while the real time story is being scooped by the blogs. Ay dios mio!
