It’s especially funny seeing Phaedra joke on Marlo about wanting in house hair and make up, knowing what she does today to keep up with the glam standards. Today having that during their vacays is like a standard.
Anyways: the new season is getting so much talk because its the best we’ve had in a while, but looking back its still not all that 😂 this show used to be so tea

I just got to season 5 and I have to say that I intensely dislike Kenya. She might get better because I also disliked Phaedra at first but now I find her hilarious and entertaining. Seeing Nene, NENE of all people, be the one to break up the fight between her and Porsha. Porsha seems like ditzy and harmless, but Kenya seems just bitter and mean. Is this an unpopular opinion?
Still loving Nene. She is an icon.
The scarf hanging as a braid, the look dead into the camera, the androgynous pose, the even brown skin, Cynthia Cheekbones Bailey! She has presence. She rly ate the best of the best up on this cover. I wonder if people realize this. Probably did cuz the director has her centered with Tyra. Only person tugging on her wig in this particular shoot to me was Beverly. She serving motha.
Edit: to whom this nay concern, IDC who don’t agree with my post. Y’all so easily give praise to the other legendary models of her time, even to the other models on this cover you couldn’t even name. But i see some of y’all have a problem with Miss. Cynthia Bailey getting her things. Anyways, as we can see. Cynthia is that girl.
S8E11: The million man march.
I felt she didn’t show much respect for everyone involved in the Washington events.
I get that the topic was sensitive and hard to talk about, but it’s also true. Yes, your son can understand what people are saying and should at least listen, even if he doesn’t fully grasp everything. If I were in that situation, I would first participate in the conversation, listen until the end, and then explain it in a way that’s easier for them to understand and absorb (Not trying to say that my approach is better, I’m just saying what I would do, but I don’t have any kids of my own).
Kids’ behavior is often influenced by how parents react or behave in situations or events. When Kim left without explaining, Sebastian even asked if she was mad at him. She said she was mad at the situation, which isn’t ideal for kids. And then, the very next morning, we see Sebastian saying things like, “stupid governors and their stupid conversations, why did I miss school for this?” And honestly, I don’t think I need to explain why now that a kid thinks that people fighting for their rights is a problem.
But my question is what would have you done in that situation? Parents and non parents.
Also, I’m sorry but Phaedra’s kids are so well-behaved compared to Kim’s (mom shaming? Sorry), not having a nanny because you want to do everything by yourself because perfect families do everything themselves 😃 is not the flex that you think it is.
And also the no make up party that she throws in the next episode is corny boots. Ugh.
I’m going to get downvoted because I think I’m mom shaming but these are my honest feelings Mary I can’t help it 😭
TLDR: I feel like Kenya’s first season was the birth of her villain era because she was not supported, was misunderstood, and wasn’t given grace in her low moments.
I’m in the middle of my first rewatch and I’m specifically talking about Kenya’s debut season, season 5.
Kenya is not perfect (by far), but I really feel like all of the ladies were very hard on her for no reason.
1. Porsha and Kenya at the charity event.
You went out of your way to invite someone but can’t even get their title right and guessing at the year. That’s like inviting Ms. America 2001 but you introduce her as “Ms. Georgia..2002?”I’m not saying that Kenya’s reaction wasn’t dramatic, but come on, anyone would be a little annoyed. On top of the event just being whack. It just felt like a party for Porsha because Kordell surprised her with a designer bag in the middle of an all women’s dinner. The whole event just seemed weird and tacky.
2. Phaedra and her donkey butt dvd.
She was wrong for not wanting to pay Kenya had she produced the DVD. And then Kandi, out of all people, sided with Phaedra?? The same Kandi who was pissed that Kim Z wasn’t trying to pay for Don’t Be Tardy and The Ring Didn’t Mean a Thing, but wanted all the profits??
4. LA/Vegas and they kept bringing up Walter.
That lady told yall they broke up and she doesn’t care to speak on him, yet they continued to taunt her and bring him up just to upset her. Now she’s crazy and dramatic for reacting.
4.5. As much as the “Loooserrr” scene cracks me up.
When you know the full context, it’s giving mean girl from Phaedra. Because we’re having a girls night. There was no need to comment on Kenya’s strawberry sucking and say “I’m sure somebody like it.. but I guess not Walter. Loserrr!” I know that was her get back from Anguilla, but. Come on.
5. Kandi’s housewarming.
Everyone was giggling and grabbing their popcorn because Walter is there with a date (who looked like she was on 10 and ready to pop off).
When Kenya arrives, Kandi gives her heads up, and now Kenya is dramatic and crazy for leaving the party? She didn’t confront Walter, she didn’t go off on Kandi, she immediately found the exit. And whether she was exaggerating about him being a stalker or not, I really didn’t appreciate Kandi laughing in her face saying “I’ve never heard of him being called a stalker”. And??
6. No one was a girl’s girl when it came to Kenya.
Even Cynthia chastised her after Kandi’s housewarming, saying that she needs to move on and learn to be in the same room as Walter. But she keeps telling yall she’s not ready to be in the same room and she’s trying to move on. But yall fake asses keep bringing him up or inviting him to the same events.
7. Kenya’s Hollywood party season finale episode.
I will say that Porsha coming as Halle Berry/Dorothy Dandridge did feel and look way more on theme than if she would’ve followed Kenya’s request to come as Halle Berry from BAPS. BUT. If you felt like Kenya was trying to play you, you should’ve declined the invitation or not shown up. Or even suggested “hey can I come as Dorothy Dandridge instead?”
But you don’t follow instructions, do what you wanna do, show up and puff your chest out at the party like “yeah I didn’t come as BAPS. And what?” It was disrespectful. And then everyone rallied behind Porsha and left the party after she got kicked out. THEN Kenya came outside, apologized (which she didn’t need to do), and they still had a problem.
I just feel like she was damned if she did, damned if she didn't 🤷🏽♀️
Edit: And don’t get me started on the mental health “jokes”. I think all of them at one point in season 5 made a “joke” about Kenya being crazy, bipolar, or needing medication. I don’t care about it being 2012, that’s cruel to continuously say to and about someone.
I actually think that it’s pretty obvious that Kandi is communicating with Shamea during the season. 🥴
Shamea is the perfect Housewife on paper, butttt since she literally isn't allowed to show that aspect of her life, we're left seeing forced contrived drama. Now, I do think they could have gotten a little more creative with her! ATP, I'd rather see her go shopping or actually host a lavish trip! Her very first season, before she even mentioned it was her husband that wanted a son. I was watching with my friend and LITERALLY SAID, I believe she is trying really hard because her husband is African, and many nations in Africa have that dated idea that they MUST have a son as an heir. Even so to the point that I personally know someone that this recently happened to. Her husband is in his 70's and up and left his wife, to go fly back "home" to marry someone else just to "give him a son" and sadly, he succeeded in that endeavor.
Now my unpopular opinion: Now, I don't think Gerald wants to be filmed because he doesn't want to, I feel he doesn't want his face out there in general because he may be doing his own thing on the side OR in the event that he wants to make that "up and move". It's soo oby. It is clever though, in general, and a good rule of thumb for the wealthy HOUSEHUSBANDS. Because the more you're in the limelight...the more likely dirt is to come out about you *cough*cough Teresa Guidice. I'm not saying he's scamming or anything. All I'm saying is you have to have a squeaky-clean record, cross every t and dot ever i to be on front of the camera all willy nilly, and Gerald is not going for it...I wonder why!
Shamea's first season wasn't terrible; I just didn't like the unnecessary back and forth with Drew (since I've always been a fan of Drew and Shamea when she was a "friend of"). She has some redeemable qualities, but this season is falling soo flat for me with her. Like you are sooo much more than what you're giving me, that it's almost a waste of peach. REDO!
