Need advice. Treating myself to much needed and dare I say deserved mini staycation—

I will be staying at a stunning boutique hotel that is definitely on the pricier side and when I found it, it inspired the whole staycation idea. My conundrum is this. My budget will only allow 2 to 3 days. 3 days if I choose the most basic room on offer or 2 if I choose the room I really want. The basic room is small but comfortable. The better room is much larger, has a balcony, and a tub in the room.

As I will be spending most time at the hotel, I’m wondering what to do. Three days seems like the ideal amount of time to relax but I know I would love that balcony and tub.

Thoughts??

Has anyone noticed that the general tenor of posts have been drastically watered down? I guess healthy criticism is no longer the daily flavor! Am I alone here?

After all is said and done, can anyone offer a reasonable explanation why this woman acted so nasty and vindictive this season?!

Wash, dry, go.

Experimenting with a wash day with nothing but leave in conditioner and no curl defining products (my usual intense routine). Embracing the less-defined, wispier, softer texture. It doesn’t look as good imo but feels amazing.

🥀🌹I have a q. What’s your favorite rose heavy scent? 🌹🥀

I’m talking the most rose on rose on rose. Like you’ve died inside of a rose flower. I’m a rose addict and love Portrait of a Lady, Eau Capitale, and Red Roses. 🌹🥀

A criminally overlooked movie and performance: Candice Bergen in “Let Them All Talk” was a ferocious sensation! I hope she has another juicy role! A brilliant actress.

Have y’all noticed that Lisa, like many other gurus, always uses too yellow a foundation? It doesn’t match her body. Why do gurus always gravitate toward yellow foundations??

It’s time for a change! Whoopi has had a good long run but these past few years have increasingly shown that she no longer is an effective moderator for such an important show in this unprecedented cultural moment. (See below for my argument)

I made this comment in a previous post but I’ll say it again: She’s on autopilot, regularly looks like she’s about to fall asleep, refuses to engage if she doesn’t like a topic, fails to read the teleprompter accurately half the time, is ill-informed on up-to-date events, is regularly dismissive and moody, overly polices cohosts (particularly Sunny and Ana), delivers the same stale audience jokes every show, and ends segments with grating platitudes that aren’t apropos to our political reality! It’s time to move on!

Below is my personal ranking of who does the most homework and comes prepared. (Leave your ranking in comments).

  1. Sunny: always talks specifics and details as well as relevant context. She also seems to regularly review source material and legal documents not just the hot takes in the news. Knows when to push back with receipts.

  2. Ana: very plugged in to current events and can always back up her points with references and quantitative data. Follows politics obsessively which grounds her arguments, despite being overly emotional in responses occasionally.

  3. Alyssa: relies somewhat heavily on her previous govt role for context but clearly shows that she stays briefed and is able to push her message with relevant support.

  4. Joy: lately she seems to be less “right up to the moment” in her talking points, but she is consistent and can always provide historical context or a witty take on a detail that others hadn’t mentioned.

  5. Sara: appears relatively informed about the premise of a topic but rarely has substantive backing for her arguments. She does occasionally poke holes or asks useful questions. One gripe I have is that she will narrow in on a detail as if it’s indisputable fact or holds deep weight when it can be easily picked apart.

  6. Whoopi: goes straight to her opinions and relies heavily on platitudes in order to appear “wise” or grounded yet it comes across as if she is ill-informed on the particulars of a topic. While occasionally she can give an interesting insight based on her storied career, her “the dog ate my homework” excuses aren’t cutting it anymore.

Also terrible moderation. Ana was the only one besides Sunny that was spitting out concrete facts. I felt she held the line for us all! Whoopi is insufferable.

The View production team needs to have a serious conversation with Whoopi. Look at how the right media is describing her performance! She came today totally unprepared!

Nene spoke on WWHL about how she was treated with hostility at The View! What’s your take? I will say they did seem to be picking at her unnecessarily!
