If you've had one vacation left where whould you go and why?
Money and time doesn't matter, your opinion does!!

My wife and I (and our two dogs) have taken our last two fall vacations in Chicago, along with a quick trip earlier this month to see a couple of Cubs games. I absolutely love Chicago, but I'm worried about getting burnt out. She is very easygoing and finds happiness basically anywhere we go. We enjoy local food (for which Chicago is great), and my favorite activity is photography. Also, I'm already hoping for another trip to see the Cubs next spring as I enjoy the cool weather. That's another factor that makes me consider a different destination in October.
Chicago definitely has many photography subjects, but what about Pittsburgh? It is approximately the same driving distance for us, and it looks like a nice photographic destination - especially in the fall. I'm interested in the many bridges, two incline railways, and the nearby Frank Lloyd Wright designed Fallingwater house.
If you have been to both, what is your opinion?
But to be blunt.. we are old and fat....
Wife just turned 56 and I am 58 she is 5'6 and 300#'s...I am 5'9 and 275
We are/were both certified divers(no not hotel cert, actual padi scuba certs, and I still dive a bit/ she has not)
But we are mostly interested in snorkeling,
Halfway around the planet is not in our budget....we don't think.
THE QUESTIONS..
Who has been where? That you found good scuba/snorkeling?
We are a bit concerned about anything in Mexico
Cozemel...would be at the top of our list....thoughts on safety if we stay in resort?
Bahamas, went in our 30s loved it
Hawaii both have been never together.
Other good spots in the Caribbean?
We keep looking at Turks and Caicos any one have recent real time info on what it's like there?
Is there anything snorkeling wise around Cabo San Lucas?
Feel free to DM me with info
Trying to get husband to get on board to going. I've only been to lower Canada in my life, and want to see more, I think Costa Rico would be perfect for us both (he wants warm, I want diversity of experience). Any advice?
Husband and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in 2028. We will be 73 at that time and have a few health challenges that prevent a lot of walking or very physical activity. We would like to plan a trip that would not be too taxing. We enjoy good entertainment (plays, concerts, performances). We like comfortable and relaxing surroundings (ocean front, Mountain View’s). We would consider all inclusive, cruises that maybe go to Hawaii, train travel on scenic routes, etc. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for us? Thanks
My wife and I just landed back home yesterday and were thinking how crazy it would be to come home from the airport and immediately drive to the woods and go hiking.
As the title asks, what is the best family vacay or red trip you’ve ever taken? I have 4 kiddos and would love some options for this Summer.
Northeastern Global News would like to interview a few people about this topic for an upcoming news article. Are you making changes to your summer travel plans due to higher prices? Are you not worried because you booked your travel months ago? The context of the story is whether, now with the summer travel season quickly approaching, is the worst time to be a consumer flying, in the context of Spirit Airlines going out of business, international conflict driving up fuel costs and the ongoing dwindling of loyalty benefits for some consumers.
We are looking to speak to people today, and the interview should be pretty quick. Comment if you’d like to share your thoughts, and we’ll send you a DM!
Sooooo... we are ALL aware.. the cost of fuel is astronomical, and it's a domino-effect on our wallets/pocketbooks. That being said, are you and your family members taking a much-needed vacation, or are you all going to do some recreational things in your neck of the woods, hence, a staycation?
Options considering Denver, CO. Boise ID. Missoula MT
Or any recommendations that are drivable within range.
I'll be in rapid city SD.
I have two weeks off at the end of August and need somewhere to go. Was initially going to go to Japan but have heard the heat is insane and that has put me off it.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a solo trip at the end of August for two weeks? Ideally something like Japan where it has a major city but also worth travelling to other cities too.
On August 2007, I embarked on an incredible journey that took me from traveling to Seattle, Washington, for the first time, to crossing the international border into Canada.
From there, I boarded the BC ferry, which transported me to a separate island in British Columbia. This island became the gateway to exploring this new country for the very first time!
Hi everyone,
I am looking for vacation spot suggestions for my dad's 50th birthday trip in September! It's going to be an adults (21+) only trip with about 15-20 friends/family members. I am looking for places that have a good mix of party vibes, but also relaxation opportunities. None of us are huge hikers but we love a good beach day. My original location idea was Miami, but with hurricane season being in September, I decided to scratch that. We're all also big travelers so a lot of places have been visited. I do want something unique, so I have also researched the Hamptons in NY. We live in Georgia so looking for something that's not a super long flight and hopefully still in the USA. Any suggestions welcome!
My husband’s aunt (85f) came to northeast Ohio to live near us last October from Florida. She’s a widow and her only child has passed so it’s just her and she is beyond set financially.
She wants us to go on a family vacation this summer. We told her that we don’t have the extra money right now because we had made a couple big purchases last summer and were recouping at the moment. She has offered to pay for the entire trip and has said to just find a place we want to go and she’ll “tag along”. We are at a loss to find any place that would appeal to both her and our 7 year old.
Looking for ideas…
She can walk and gets around but she does tire out and needs rest and naps, etc. Accessibility is a consideration. Also, we are not just “lie on the beach all day” types. One day at the beach is enough. We prefer to explore/experience things, go to museums, etc. We’re not looking to go international or anything.
My wife has not so subtly mentioned wanting to vacation in Key West approximately every single day of our marriage for the last 6 years. But, we love our family and will want to have about 7 adults there in total. What’s the best bang for your buck and/or most cost effective way of being able to have space for us all? What areas would be best to stay in? Better to be at a hotel with separate rooms, or are there condos available on the beach?
Looking for affordable trips in October. Something within a 5 hour drive of St. Louis. Toddler friendly - unique experiences.
I have an hotel/park discount for a undisclosed theme park chain, and would like to use it as an excuse to visit other theme parks in Europe.
What would my week look like if I wanted to visit:
Priority List
Disneyland Paris
Legoland Deutschland (mainly the Fabrik store I’ll be real lol)
Efteling
Alton Towers
Omittable
Thorpe Park
Lego House in Billund.
This may sound absurd, just wanna take a challenge and visit as many parks as possible.
Don’t want advice on funds, I understand the risk lol.
I do want advice on time. Would I have time to visit 5/6 of these attractions in a week? Would there be time to sleep?
I’ve been lucky to visit these countries in my lifetime many times but I’ve never been to these attractions specifically so I’m not stopping to see the Eiffel Tower or any historical/cultural stops on this trip.
First pretend I’m a man that can sleep in any situation and will always be lucky with flights/trains.
Then pretend that I must take at least one half day to compress and there’s issues or a strike or something.
Both scenarios are likely.
Thanks for the advice, look forward to the suggestions.
PS. Would also appreciate suggestions on what’re the best airports to depart back to America cost-wise/quality-wise.
I live in Windsor/Detroit and I want to go someplace for the day. I don’t mind driving up to 4 hours. I would love to visit a city with nice views and areas. I’ve went to Chicago and would love a similar experience. I am going as family so that’s something to keep in mind.
