Confirmed and SO Excited!!
I’m heading to New York for The View season premiere!!!!
As I’ve shared with so many of you, I started really watching around 2001/2002, and I’ve been locked in ever since. There have been periods when I’ve been more committed than others, but The View has been a constant throughout the last 25 years.
The show has bookmarked my life for more than two decades. Like Hillary Clinton and Rosie O’Donnell, The View has shaped who I am today, always finding a way to fit into my life. It gave that preteen boy meaningful and sometimes difficult discourse, exposed me to different perspectives, and helped turn me into the proud and fiery gay man I am today!
I can’t wait to be there and celebrate Barbara Walters’ incredible legacy and every single woman who has had the opportunity to sit at that table over the last 30 years.
This will be my first time attending live and I can’t wait.
Only 5 minutes in and REALLY good! Laughed out loud a few times already.
Disney sues the FCC over retaliatory practices
Disney is suing the FCC over retaliatory practices and the FCC's actions against the view are a central part of the case.
Reminder: Rosie is hosting Kimmel all this week.
Been waiting for her talk show return for many years. Also she said has said on multiple shows that she has hopes this could lead to her daytime return.
O’Donnell will kick off her four-night Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest-hosting stint Monday, August 17 with Hannah Waddingham, Ana Gasteyer, and punk band The Linda Lindas. Jean Smart and Richard Gadd are set for Tuesday, followed by Charlie Day, Janelle James, and Ashley McBryde on Wednesday.
Thursday’s show will feature Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, Shawn Hatosy, and Sydney James Harcourt.
Potential Ladies that I would consider for The View
I’m going to be honest here. Whoopi should leave the view after its 30th season. I just think she’s just exhausted of having to do the same thing, and has literally said that atp in her career she’s just doing the show for the hefty cheque she receives. I also don’t mind Sunny or Sara getting replaced, since I think their time there has just ran their course.
So here is a list of potential people I could consider, if I were hypothetically a producer or casting director
Sheryl Underwood: She has good comedic timing and very chaotic natural in the sense she is able to balance out those two traits, and based on what she gave it makes more inclined she is more fitting for this group of women than her time on The Talk. I don’t really care if she’s been there for so long, since it’s honestly part of her resume as a co host.
Phaedra Parks: Okay, I know this one is going to be a little risky to cast due to her history on reality television being kind of tarnished, due to a situation she had with one of her former castmates on RHOA. Similarly to Star Jones, she has a strong legal background, most notably with Bobby Brown as his attorney; and someone I would consider a centrist leaning democrat. She voted for Harris but, based on her social media activity, I wouldn’t consider her a huge leftist. If Pheadra leaves RHOA again, I think this job could suit her since she is quick witted just like Joy, and would most likely bring good chaotic energy to the table. If she doesn’t leave her show, she could be a recurring co host like Ana: filming for certain days only due to her residing in Atlanta.
Monica Lewinsky: Another controversial figure, however the public opinion on her has largely shifted over the years from being a concubine villain to being a victim of someone with power that rose above it for good. I think Monica could bring substantial life experience about being bullied and being hounded by the press, since she is an anti bully advocate herself. She is a democrat that has advocated for productive women’s rights, age gaps in presidencies, and structural reforms as well.
Lisa Ling: I think it’s time for her to be brought back, but the question is if it’s with the right group of women. Based on a youtube clip I watched a while back. She didn’t necessarily fit in with people like Whoopi and/or Sunny. I just think there was a mismatch in their personalities. However, she is a very serious women with a strong background in journalism that she has fostered over the years being off. I could see her being at the table with people like Sheryl, Joy, Sara, Ana and even, Monica if they could let the past be the past. Since, she made a comment about her when she was very young on the show in one of her seasons. I haven’t kept up with her as much and I don’t think she lives in NY anymore so she could also become a recurring host like Navarro.
Wendy Osefo: She is another Real Housewife from RHOP. Right now, there is a lot of controversy surrounding regarding her personal finances, however I think she’d make a great co host. Similar to Sunny Hostin, she is a very educated woman and has a very strong Alpha type personality. I can see her going up against more intimidating personalities like Joy Behar and Ana Navarro. Wendy has a good educational background regarding the political side of the educational system the United States so I think she could bring a different perspective to the show. She is also left leaning voting for Harris and supporting more progressive causes like immigration. She is also a daughter of Nigerian immigrants, so she could speak on that at length. Before her drama, she was very well respected in the Bravo Universe for being quick on her feet, having a history of appearing on shows like CNN debating trump supporters or extreme right figures, and speaking about the importance of colorism and its impact since she has been a victim of that on her show unfortunately. If she were to get fired from RHOP, she could also be great for permanent spot on the show.
Jillian Micheals: Despite her history of criticizing Behar and the View itself. I think she’d be a good addition for the following reasons: For one, I think she’d bring the sort of energy Hasselbeck and McCain brought with their drama and theatrics. I mean that Hasselbeck and O’Donnell fight was last supper energy right there. Two, she’d bring an objective perspective regarding nutrition and obesity in this county due to her history in that field. Three, her fights with Behar would be entertaining to watch since they are both very opinionated their different politics and their shared history with each other.
Sage Steele: She was an espn host for a number years, I believe. But left due to the fact, that ESPN was praising trans women being in women’s sports which made her turn into a Trump Supporting conservative with selective morality. However, I think she’d be a good addition regardless, due to her hosting history. I think her fights with Behar and Navarro would be entertaining. I don’t really know much about her.
Amala Ekpunobi: Another very conservative women, who actually used to pro BLM until she didn’t. She is a very polarizing figure regarding her takes on racism and gender. She has appeared on the Dr Phil show numerous of times to debate DEI and cultural appropriation. Her strong personality would be great on The View since I’d imagine her fights with Behar, AFG, and Osefo, if she ever would to join, would skyrocket the ratings by a mountain. However, I don’t know if ABC itself would be inclined to take that risk.
Amy Chua: An Asian mother who caused controversy in 2010 or 2011 (don’t remember) for releasing her book “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother”. She has made controversial statements about her parenting style, most notably when she rejected her daughter’s birthday card to her, because it was simply wasn’t good enough. Some in the Asian American community pushed back since she reinforced the stereotype that Asians are smarter than others due to cultural historical factors and that of being a notable tiger mom. I think she’d bring a unique perspective to The View regarding her parenting style coupled with her law background like Parks. She also tends to push against liberals or leftist about her parenting with debates. So I can see her going head to head with people like Behar or Lewinsky, if she were to ever join in that respect. She is also a Yale Law Professor alongside her husband, so she could bring unique perspectives about education and the judicial system like Parks. Like AFG, I don’t see her getting easily flustered when expressing her views even if they cause a bit of friction, so I think her debates with Navarro would interesting to look at.
People that should return are Joy Behar, Alyssa Farrah Griffin, and Ana Navarro since I think balance out the show pretty well as is, but I think they just need new blood. AFG is pretty reasonable and level headed in the manner she expresses her views, not having to throw a fit like Hasselbeck. I personally think Ana was one the best additions the show, since she balanced her republican view points with being Anti Trump and Ice. Her takes on the Maduro situation were absolutely on point, and being a latino person myself I felt seen and heard more than ever from an american english show, therefore I think her presence is needed for the Hispanic Community. Joy Behar should return because I’m going to be honest we need woman being in charge of the girls. She definitely already fills in that spot with Whoopi. However, her way of being in charge isn’t very super outwardly controlling like Goldberg. And Honestly, I can’t see the show without her.
TL; DR: I would consider Phaedra Parks, Wendy Osefo, Lisa Ling, Amy Chua, Sage Steele, Amala Ekpunobi, Sheryl Underwood, Monica Lewinsky, and Jillian Micheals.
What is your fan casting for the view or what potential women would include?
Let's remember when The View did a promotion to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary and feat Mary J. Blige
I want something similar to the 30th edition of the program, even though I believe that won't happen.
Based Rosie!
Bring Rosie back!
Scott’s always been a cheerleader for American imperialism…
Rosie O'Donnell is the only presenter who wasn't afraid to disagree with her colleagues' opinions.
With The View's 30th anniversary approaching, I believe Rosie will participate in a special edition, so I'll be sharing some iconic moments from her time on the show.
Joy in P-Town!
I heard that Joy was partying in Provincetown over the weekend. How many 83 year olds do that? She's the best!
29 Years of The View!
Barbara Walters’ legacy continues to live on in such a wonderful way. Congratulations to Barbara and every single woman who has had the opportunity to sit at the table and share their view!
No one wants Meghan McCain back for the reunion, so says Page Six.

I could loose hours just scrolling through a highlights reel of the ladies loudly debate. I forget how loud and annoying Hasselbeck and Meghan were. It really nice have a calm table so you can hear everyone.

Regarding recent discourse about Whoopi’s The View pay. I don’t think it’s as high as many are speculating.
People keep posting these sound bite-like posts about what Whoopi said during the Baby, This Is Keke podcast. But did you listen to the whole podcast?
Sharing a quick clip from later in the podcast where they’re discussing pay, as well as pay speculation vs. pay reality, particularly for women and black women in the industry.
Whoopi explains later in the conversation that her The View paycheck isn’t what people think it is. Keke asks her if her The View paycheck is the highest she’s been paid during her career, and Whoopi quickly and firmly says “No.” She goes on to say that people don’t understand that a lot of what’s reported that celebrities make, isn’t what they’re actually making.
I’m not sure if people are up to speed on this, but maybe 5 years ago or so now, comedian and actress, Mo’nique spoke out against Whoopi Goldberg and shared parts of a personal conversation she’d had with Whoopi where they were discussing pay and pay disparity among women and specifically black women in the entertainment industry. Mo’nique was quite upset with Whoopi and seemed disgusted at what Whoopi was making at The View - apparently the figures Whoopi made weren’t what Mo’nique was expecting. There were other issues at play and other things Mo’nique was upset about. I’ll get to find a video and post it.
But to my initial point - I don’t think Whoopi is making an insane amount of money. I think this interview with Keke has gotten misconstrued and reposted, and people are creating their own narratives around it. But if you actually listened to the whole podcast you would have heard, Whoopi speaks more candidly about pay, and doesn’t seem to be playing up her The View paycheck.
20 years on (August 2, 2006) Elisabeth Hasselbeck fued with Barbara Walters
20 years ago, "Can you handle this?" - Barbara
Bleep! with Ana Navarro
Have been missing the podcast on my drives and decided to check out Ana's new one. Her Behind the Table episodes are usually average for me but I find her podcast pretty entertaining - especially when she's interviewing guests. Highly recommend checking out this episode where she explains a bit of her backstory.
