How bad is the noise?

Parents, genuine question:

Husband and I are right on the fence about kids. He’s all in and loves kids, would be a great dad. His only hesitation is my concern about noise and frankly, I have the same concern.

I’m autistic and HATE the shrill, high pitched shrieks of toddlers and screaming babies. Which is unfortunate, because when they’re not screaming I think they’re the cutest, most adorable beings and have a blast hanging out with my nieces and nephews and friends kids. But when the shrieking starts oh my god it’s physically painful. Or when I see a kid in a restaurant I’ll actually leave (why are they always so badly behaved at restaurants? I’ve never seen children throwing tantrums in homes as I have when out)

What do we think? This is a genuine question. Is it possible to ride out and the love of your kids makes it tolerable? Do you get desensitized after a while? Thoughts from anyone neurodivergent would also be helpful.

How much will not being a great writer hold me back in litigation?

To be clear, my writing isn’t bad, or even necessarily below my class year (or at least, I’ve never been told so, and I’m continuously enlisted to draft briefs, so it’s not like, ghastly). It’s just, not particularly good, and definitely not my strongest suit.

Assuming I get consistently good feedback in other areas (good responsiveness, excellent communication, solid understanding of facts of cases, strategy, etc), will being a consistently mid writer hold me back long term?

Considering buying a house in the general region bounded by Damen, Western, Division and North, which I understood to generally be Wicker? Several people I’ve spoken to about it have actually cautioned me against that area though, and having walked around a bit it does seem that the vibes are different and slightly off somehow. Maybe it’s just the creepy hospital, who knows.

Would love to get insight from people who either live there or have lived there before investing hundreds of thousands of dollars.
