Blogs to read? Looking for recs

I just finished reading a blog about a girl trying to fortify a feeder so her cat can't get more food out of it! It was so fun, made me remember what reading blogs is like.

Anyway, do you guys read anything like that? I used to enjoy ones were people with kids would anecdote their 'kids say the darndest things' moments, etc. Open to suggestions!

[TOMT][Phrase][2000s?][Southern] Saying that is something like 'rubbing pennies together trying to make dollars?'

I feel its probably an old southern thing, but I remember a phrase that is like 'rubbing change together trying to make dollars' or 'rubbing pennies together trying to make *something* change'? Like as a sort of pun?

I asked my dad who is old and southern, he said he hasn't heard of it. It might be a deep south thing, and reminds me of the phrase that is like 'lord wheelin' and the creek don't rise' which kind of makes no sense to me 😭

I would post this on r/whatstheword but it seems they only do words or generally nothing longer than 2-3 words. Thanks!

Bids not closing?

I placed a bid on a strawberry shortcake organizer I've been looking for, and for over a week, it hasn't closed.

After the first week, it said the pre-bid reset and something like "this may be because your card declined, time ran out, or something changed." And when I looked, nothing changed about the listing, and my card definitely had funds. It was never charged.

I did message the seller, but they didn't reply. They've had several live shows that I haven't been able to attend. But anyways... Im just confused? What would be the point of keeping the bid up forever? I'm the only person who's bid on it also
