Just released: the first-ever biographical video game about Thomas Jefferson (who founded UVA)

Happy Fourth of July weekend! In honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, I have just released the first-ever biographical video game about Thomas Jefferson, who founded UVA.

The game is called Important People of History: Presidents - Thomas Jefferson, and it's available on Steam.

This historically-accurate visual novel contains over 100 photos of places related to Thomas Jefferson, as those locations look today, including locations at UVA and around Charlottesville, such as:

  • The UVA lawn
  • Inside the Rotunda
  • Edgar Allan Poe's UVA dorm room
  • Jefferson's Monticello home
  • The birthplace of Meriwether Lewis (of the Lewis and Clark expedition, championed by Jefferson as President). Like Jefferson, Lewis was from Charlottesville
  • The Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center in Charlottesville

There are also photos from other places in Virginia, such as:

  • Colonial Williamsburg, where Jefferson went to college and later served as Governor of Virginia
  • The spot in Richmond where Patrick Henry famously said "Give me liberty or give me death"

And of course there are photos of plenty of places related to the Declaration of Independence, like:

  • Independence Hall, where the Declaration was signed
  • The building where Jefferson wrote the Declaration
  • The lap desk now in the Smithsonian on which Jefferson wrote the Declaration
  • The National Archives, where the Declaration resides today
  • The Jefferson Memorial, where the words of the Declaration are inscribed

If you're not familiar with visual novels, that's ok - there's a free demo so you can check it out.

I hope you enjoy!

P.S. There is also another game about fellow Virginian George Washington released the same day.

P.P.S. I have purposefully avoided linking to the game's store page on Steam. But it's easy enough to find if you want - as I said, it's the only Thomas Jefferson video game!

In honor of the Fourth of July, I just released the first-ever biographical video games about George Washington and Thomas Jefferson

Happy Fourth of July! In honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, I am pleased to say that I have just released the first-ever biographical video games about George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

The games are available for purchase on Steam here:

The Washington game focuses more on the Revolutionary War, while the Jefferson game focuses more on the Declaration of Independence and the road to revolution. These historically-accurate visual novels each contain over 100 photos of real-world locations about the era of Washington and Jefferson where history literally was made - as these places look today - such as:

  • Their homes at Mount Vernon and Monticello
  • Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed
  • The National Archives, where the Declaration resides today
  • Lexington and Concord
  • Bunker Hill
  • The Delaware River Crossing spot
  • Valley Forge
  • Yorktown
  • Inside the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial
  • And many more!

And as you can see in the attached trailer, I also delve into the spy techniques Washington used to win the Revolutionary War, for a British intelligence officer said after the war that "Washington did not outfight us, he out-spied us."

In case you're not familiar with visual novels, that's okay - each game has a free demo so you can check it out. I hope you enjoy!

I just released the first biographical video game about George Washington (on Steam)

Hi everyone - I posted last year that I was making the world's first-ever biographical video game about George Washington (that post is here https://www.reddit.com/r/georgewashington/comments/1o001em/im_making_a_biographical_video_game_about_george and was well-received enough to be a pinned post in this sub).

Well, I am pleased to say that I have officially released the biographical visual novel Important People of History: Presidents - George Washington today in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence (even though Washington never signed the Declaration, I know).

Important People of History: Presidents - George Washington is available for purchase on Steam here with a launch discount: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3721820/Important_People_of_History_Presidents__George_Washington

As a visual novel, it features 100+ real-life photos of places about the life and era of George Washington, as these locations exist today, such as:

  • Mount Vernon
  • Fort Necessity
  • Lexington and Concord
  • The Delaware River Crossing
  • Valley Forge
  • Yorktown
  • Federal Hall in NYC
  • Inside the Washington Monument
  • And many more

If you've never experienced a visual novel before, that's okay - there is also a free demo so you can try it out first if you'd like.

I hope you enjoy! I can think of nobody who would find this project more appealing than those who frequent a subreddit about His Excellency, George Washington.

P.S. I also released another game in the Important People of History series today about Thomas Jefferson for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Whereas the Washington game focuses more on the Revolutionary War itself, the Jefferson game focuses on the road to the revolution and the need for the Declaration of Independence. If you're interested in the game about Thomas Jefferson, you can find it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3721830/Important_People_of_History_Presidents__Thomas_Jefferson

Free demo just released for "There's Always a Madman: V.I.C.T.O.R." in honor of the Spy Video Game Rendezvous happening now on Steam (release date trailer just dropped as well!)

I'm pleased to announce the interactive spy novel There's Always a Madman: V.I.C.T.O.R. now has a free demo available to play on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3373580/Theres_Always_a_Madman_VICTOR

The demo is released as part of the currently-underway Steam festival for spy video games, the Spy Video Game Rendezvoushttps://store.steampowered.com/curator/45263338/sale/SpyVideoGameRendezvous2026 (the festival contains spy games of all genres, but FYI, there's a section specifically for visual novels and interactive fiction games)

And a release date trailer was just dropped for the game as well, as part of the Spy Video Game Rendezvous 2026 Directhttps://youtu.be/VpUWViO9W4w

There's Always a Madman: V.I.C.T.O.R. is a single-player interactive fiction game where you play as a group of madmen coming together to eliminate their shared nemesis, the great secret agent Franklin Benjamin. In the four prior games in the series, you played as this legendary secret agent and foiled each of their individual plans. Now, you take control of the other side and try to coalesce a coalition of madmen to get revenge on the only man standing in the way of world domination! Can it be done? Can he actually be beat?

If you're the type of person who prefers to start from the beginning of a series, then I have good news for you - the first four games in the series are all currently on discount for the SVGR festival. Or if you prefer to just dip a toe in, all five announced games also have free demos, so you can try any of them (or all of them) out for free!

Because there's always a madman, and you're the best agent we've got!

Happening now on Steam - the Spy Video Game Rendezvous, a Steam festival (and Direct) with 50+ spy video games, discounts, demos, trailers, and more

Hi everyone,

There's a festival that just kicked off on Steam for spy video games called the Spy Video Game Rendezvous (running 5/15 - 5/22): https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45263338/sale/SpyVideoGameRendezvous2026

I'm the developer of a series of spy video games called There's Always a Madman as well as this upcoming game about George Washington (who was a spymaster), and I've collaborated with my fellow spy game devs to bring together 50+ spy video games for this festival - the largest gathering of spy video games ever in one place! There are discounts, demos, trailers, and upcoming games to wishlist.

This is the 2nd-annual edition of the Spy Video Game Rendezvous festival, featuring 50% more games than the inaugural edition last year (which I posted about a year ago and was well-received). This year's festival has a wide range of spy video games on offer, such as GoldenEye-like action thrillers, brain-meltingly complex puzzle games, humorous spy games, and even some surprisingly cozy spy games. No matter what genre of game you enjoy, there's probably a spy game version of it.

Not sure what to play? Good news - there's also a 20-minute showcase of spy video game trailers called the Spy Video Game Direct, which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/VpUWViO9W4w

Lastly, if you want to discuss spy video games year-round, there is a brand new subreddit called r/SpyVideoGames (https://www.reddit.com/r/SpyVideoGames) for all the latest conversation and news on spy video games. No need to sneak in - you've got an open invite.

I hope you find some great new spy video games to play - if you come across an interesting game or two in the fest, be sure to drop a comment below. After all, a good spy always reports in after doing some recon.

Be seeing you, agent!

Hi everyone,

I'm Adam, and in addition to playing spy video games, I'm a developer of spy video games, and I'm also the organizer of the only Steam festival for spy video games - the Spy Video Game Rendezvous.

To my amazement, there is seemingly no place for fans of spy video games to congregate, discuss their favorite games in the genre, and share news about upcoming spy video games, from AAA franchises like Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, and James Bond all the way down to solo dev indie spy games.

As a result, I've taken it upon myself to create that space! It's a new subreddit called r/SpyVideoGames, and I made it specifically for fans of spy video games like you.

So please come check out this new subreddit - and follow r/SpyVideoGames to get all the latest news and discussion about spy video games. As a matter of fact, I recently announced the 2nd-annual edition of the Spy Video Game Rendezvous Steam festival will be taking place later this month with 50+ spy video games - find more details in the r/SpyVideoGames subreddit.

Here are some additional examples of existing posts in the r/SpyVideoGames subreddit:

  • The best spy video games ever made (five separate lists)
  • Spy video games released in Q1 2026
  • The two BIG spy video games releasing next month (May 2026)
  • New article looking back at Rockstar's cancelled spy video game "Agent"
  • If you're sick of waiting for Ubisoft to make a new Splinter Cell, this newly announced indie stealth game might fill the Sam Fisher-shaped hole in your life (link to a PC Gamer article with that headline)

Be seeing you, agent!

P.S. I checked with the mods and got approval before submitting this post. After all, a good spy knows to do some recon before taking to the field.
