That feeding response is insane. Tagged from the enclosure. Moxxie was gently pried off before he could start chewing so it seems like there was no envenomation. Moxxie is pretty big for his gender and his fangs grew accordingly. Like sharp little knives. Moxxie got his mouse and he's fine.

P.S. Boyfriend is fine too

Collision at Power St. and 55

Looks like head-on collision between a white sedan and a blue minivan (possibly one of the taxi vehicles but I can't be sure) in the middle of the intersection. At least 2 ambulances, 1 firetruck, and a police car on scene currently. Traffic is just starting to slow down.
Stay safe, everyone.

Peppered cory eggs!

Peppered cory eggs at 24 hours old. Hard to take a picture through the breeding box but I'm optimistic for little ones.

Update: at 48 hours, at least one egg has turned tea color and looks great. There might be a few others that will turn by tomorrow. Interesting surprise, some of the smaller shrimp snuck into the box and are cleaning the eggs, keeping them free of mold. I'll remove the obviously dead ones tomorrow but the shrimp are doing a wonderful job keeping the eggs in good shape. I still don't trust the snails...

Caught Peppered corys laying eggs... and eating them.

Corys were going nuts this morning. Our recent storm fronts have been causing a breeding frenzy. This solved the mystery of why I wasn't really finding any eggs.

The female will need treatment for her nose. I'll quarantine her after she's had time to relax.

Hognose hiding for last few days. Weather has been weird. Could this be it?

Moxxie has been hiding for a while. This isn't like him. He's usually out and about every day, especially feeding day. Our weather has been on and off stormy. Is it possible the barometric changes are causing him to stay hidden and he'll make an appearance eventually? When should I start getting concerned? Thanks.

Pic for tax

Update: Moxxie has been found. Poor little guy is currently in blue, grumpy, and hungry. Hopefully it goes off ok.

Have a lot of fry and young pygmies in my tank right now. The fry are spotted and when they exit the fry stage, they quickly develop their fish colors and stripes. All except this little guy. He's eating frequently and is a very curious fishy. Considering he has no markings at all, I'm thinking this might be a random albino pygmy. Can't wait to watch him grow up.

Called "new white jade" which usually means a type of serpentine. Didn't know of any types of white serpentine so I was thinking maybe bowenite? Thanks for the help.

Called "new white jade", thinking it might be some kind of serpentine. Since it's white, maybe it's bowenite? Smooth, waxy/soapy feel. Translucent.

Edit: if anybody knows what this is, I would totally appreciate your input. Thanks.

Two separate supposedly jadeite pieces but would like to know what they really are. I love them regardless as I like the artwork. I can shine a light through them. Thanks for any help you all can give.
