[Rolex] 36mm on 7.5 inch wrist?

36mm on a 7.5 inch wrist… thoughts?

Not going to lie, I’m kinda feeling it.

My sweet spot is usually 38 but I think smaller watches are very much making a come back right now.

Also I didn’t really rate this dial at Watch and Wonders, but it actually looks a lot nicer in better lighting.

Currently interested in a Bruce Wayne, Sub (date or no date) then a DJ in either black or mint green.

Great visit experience at this AD in Bangkok too. Very nice team super helpful.

Which sizing looks best?

I personally don’t like big bulky watches.

2 weeks ago, I received the resin prototype for our new Setsuna collection, but it wasn’t good news.

(The white resin prototype)

It felt / looked bulky.
Like a brick on your wrist.

Even on my 7.5inch wrist, it was still HUGE.

I asked my manufacturing partner how we can make it smaller.

They said it wasn’t possible.

And so that was it. A project I’d been working on for 2 years completely down the drain.

Hundreds of people who’ve already reserved the Setsuna would be left disappointed, refunded and may never trust me to deliver again.

Safe to say these past two weeks have been stressful. And after buying a 3D printing machine, 50+ failed resin cases and what feels like 100,000 messages with my manufacturing partners…. I think I’ve eventually figured out a solution.

These two cases are actually the same height, but they look completely different because of how we redesigned the mid-case.

The first prototype (white) had most of the height in the mid-case, leaving it looking big and visually larger than it was.

The new prototype (grey) has a much slimmer profile for the mid-case, with more of the height hidden in the back.

I also curved the mid-case to help the lugs hug the wrist better, leaving less space / gap between your watch and wrist for a beautifully seamless fit.

This was the last problem we needed to solve before pushing ahead with the physical prototypes.

But there is one more surprise in store.

Will be updating everyone on our interest list soon once I’ve bought the special material for the moonphase.

What do you guys think? Does it look better?

Over the top for a 9015 movement decoration?

Is this too much to decorate a regulated Miyota 9015 movement?

It takes 17 separate finishing steps — from circular brushing and satin graining, to diamond-cut edges, polished bevels, engraved details, matte blasting, skeletonized machining, and gold-tone surface treatments — with every surface individually finished to create depth, contrast, and maximise light-play.

Im still learning the world of watch design and managing the production process of timepieces, but thanks to the people I have around me im learning quickly.

I know there will be some people who think this is silly. But looking at a stunning movement is one of my favourite things about the watches I own.

Interested to know your thoughts and feedback now the rotor is completely finished.

Is it worth decorating the movement for a £600 watch?

3rd prototype and finally got our new custom rotor finalised for the Evermont 38 Gen 2.

Sometimes I think things would be so much easier if we didn’t design everything from scratch.

But updates like this (once they are actually right) make the worry and work worth while.

Now just for electroplating to make it silver and we’re all set for June.

Do you think it’s worth investing in decorating a movement or is it a waste of money in your eyes?

Decorated movement and exhibition caseback or close caseback? What gets your vote?

Microbrands with real space materials

Does anyone know of any Microbrands that use real and documented Lunar material?

Not the man made meteorite dials you see every now and again. But genuine space material that has documentation and can be certified as real?

I have to come clean about something… can you guess what’s coming?

I’ve been secretly hiding this about our new Setsuna collection for a few reasons.

  1. I didn’t know if it was possible (and am only 95% sure now).

  2. I didn’t know if I would make it accessible to buy for most watch enthusiasts.

But I’ve been working on setting this up for 6 months with no breakthroughs and our manufacturing partner saying they can’t do it multiple times.

Until yesterday…

All I can say is those who trusted the vision early and reserved their piece well in advance are going to be very, very happy 🌝

Can you guess what’s coming?

I feel like a lot of people are writing Strickland off already.

But hear me out...

Yes, there's been footage of Sean saying Chimaev was the 'best in the gym' and he apparently tapped him out a ton in grappling drills.

But one thing is being overlooked (in my opinion) and it's actually the one single weakness Chimaev has.

In Chimaev's fight with Du Plessis, his gas tank went in the 5th round. He gassed and held on for dear life.

Same with Usman and Burns.

In every single fight where Chimaev's gas tank has been tested and he's been pushed into the later rounds, he's faded.

And this is exactly how Sean might just win this...

Strickland suffocates people with his pressure. He's unbearable. He breaks by consistently coming forward.

So IF (and it is a big IF) Strickland can get back to his feet after the big dog shoots, I think Strickland takes it in round 4 or 5.

I think he stops him.

What do you guys think? Is it another 5 rounds of Chimaev acting like a wet blanket or does Sean shock the world?

I say this half joking (kinda)

But I’ve never felt the way I felt after this mornings half marathon.

This was my first (competitive) run.

I wanted to set the goal of sub 2 to push myself and just got under which im happy about.

But now I feel like I never want to experience that feeling again and doing a full marathon seems like an impossible task.

Did I just push myself too hard or am I just overthinking things?

For context im 35, just started training around 3 months ago and had never ran really before.

Thoughts and advice would be appreciated as I do like the discipline of running 4-5 times a week.

But in two minds….

This resin case just came today, and it needs work.

I’ve been working on our first modified complication with our manufacturer for the Setsuna timepiece.

It has a day/month function, and date and moon phase at 6.

For some reason this watch was fully reserved with small deposits very quickly, but now I need to get the prototype perfect.

I originally loved the Cubitus and how it felt on the wrist.

The height of a cubitus is only 8.5mm.

Currently the Setsuna is 10.7

The cubitus (smaller version) has 40mm diameter.

The Setsuna is 44.5

I’ve been wearing the Resin print all day and the watch needs to be smaller.

We’ve built the custom movement on top of the Miyota 9015.

And I’m really happy with the design of the watch (although I can appreciate not everyone appreciates square watches).

Im in a position where I need the watch thinner and smaller by around 10% but I may need to find a different movement to do that.

Or am I overthinking it and the dimensions are okay for a square watch.

Or is there another fix?

I genuinely believe in this collection, but it has to be right

Any ideas and thoughts welcome 🙏🏽

I always get brutal honest truth from Reddit, so wanted to share the updated visuals for the Evermont 38 (Gen 2) here and get honest feedback about how strong of an offer my watch actually is.

I really want to deliver as much value as possible.

For anyone who doesn't know already, I started an independent watch brand called Emerton Scott back in 2018 which got put on the back burner for a few years.

Then around 2 years ago I felt myself wanting to design watches again and what started as a side project slowly turned into people actually wanting me to make my designs.

I shipped the first 100 pieces of the Evermont 38 early this year.

This is the second generation model of the Evermont 38, based on the incredible feedback and input from customers and other watch communities (like this one).

The Emerton Scott brand is centred around celebrating the human spirit. The Evermont for example was designed to symbolise a journey of climbing towards your own personal potential, a never-ending climb (hence Ever-Mont, Forever Climbing/Mountain).

Specs & improvements, for those interested:

* 38.4 mm case

* 10.3 mm thickness

* Miyota 9015 Movement (regulated to 6 positions and custom decorated)

* 316L steel

* 10 ATM water resistance

* Red crown warning ring

* Anti-reflective lens coating (3 layers on inside)

* Quick release spring bars

* Each piece uniquely numbered

* Fume effect dial with enamel to create depth and attractive light-play

* On-the-fly micro adjust (4-positions)

* Custom date font and date at 6 o'clock

* Brushed bracelet links, chamfered and highlighted with mirror polishing

* Decorated clasp with perlage finishing and decoration

I’d genuinely love your thoughts. Good or bad.

* Does the design feel original or familiar in the wrong way?

* Quartz vs automatic.. dealbreaker for you in this price range?

* Would you wear something like this?

I've been taking pre-orders for the Gen 2 since January. And I've had to increase the pricing to £595 due to the improvements and upgrades, but the watch (plus a free strap from our website and a premium leather travel case still £455 until April 30th)

If anyone is curious, I talk about the changes and finer details in this video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZB3AvpfYHc&t=172s\](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZB3AvpfYHc&t=172s)

Appreciate any feedback. Seriously.

A comment from this sub pushed me to try and sell the first 100 pieces of a watch I designed. Now I’ve almost sold of the 200 second generation pieces.

Will forever be grateful to the guy who left the comment about setting an example for my young son.

And the feedback you guys gave me along the way always kept me focused on making the best watch I could.
