I think that the horizontal island looks really nice in notch format at the top of the screen, however I feel like it'd be more convenient to have it similar to the portrait island just rotated 90 degrees
Many apps support SMB sharing already but Google files doesn't which makes it difficult to transfer files to and fro, it'd also be something cool to integrate into essentials because as someone who stores most of my music and documents on my server, the dedicated app for connecting to it isn't the best and SMB sharing on android is poor when the circumstances aren't exact
I personally think the added features are nice but I'm interested to get y'all's point of view since it wasn't particularly big.
Don't get me wrong some people on this subreddit are helpful to parents and vice versa, but there's also the fact of some people don't understand what kindness is and believe that their experience is everyone's experience. I mean in the last 24 hours I've seen 3 people being blatant dickheads to parents because they want to keep their kids safe online.
Family link is a great tool and there are rare situations in which they have been abused, but it doesn't mean that we have to actively tell parents that their kids will grow to hate them, or that it's a breach of their human rights (it isn't).
To any mods that see this it'd be beneficial to make one of the featured posts outlining that parents should avoid this. I'm already aware that there is one similar to this but it's also mainly just trying to badmouth parents.
Also this is a fairly necessary edit, there is a user on most of the parental control subreddits (leigstonite) who have made it their mission to be a condescending prick to every parent on the sight, I'll quote them in later edit.
"Oh no how horrible you can't text him" "Well you know what they say, "parents know best!". So why don't you use that untapped parent knowledge and figure it out yourself?" "I would try to make you unhappy, but I know postpartum is already doing that..."
Two posts in one day is crazy amiright? But the title basically explains itself. Don't get me wrong I'm not sure if this is realistically possible on older models but since the pixel 11 has that funky charging aod it wouldn't surprise me if it is.
Essentials genuinely looks better than most triple A games at this point. I'm honestly still surprised that essentials is still a semi niche app even after being featured on many videos and what not!

Might be posting this too early haven't checked when the update released but in the Your Android section MeDrop has disappeared and I can't find it anywhere else in the app, is this intentional for the release of MeDrop or a bug with be pre release?
It's a bit of a weird one this, but Google have rolled out multiple types of AOD displays on the newer pixel devices, will this ever come to the older pixels like 9 series below, as the current AOD and clock styles have lost their touch since nothing new had been added in forever?
