I built a free online PDF editor called ButDoc. It already supports OCR, mobile editing, and multiple PDF tools, and I’m trying to grow it without spending a huge budget on ads.

If you had a SaaS like this, how would you market it today?

• SEO?
• Reddit?
• TikTok/YouTube?
• Backlinks?
• Programmatic SEO?

I created it because many PDF websites became frustrating:

• aggressive paywalls
• forced signups
• slow processing
• too many ads

So I wanted to build something simpler and actually useful.

Hey everyone,

Over the past few months I noticed that most PDF websites started putting almost every useful feature behind subscriptions, limits, or forced account creation.

Sometimes I only wanted to sign a document, compress a PDF, or make a quick edit, but the experience always felt frustrating.

So I decided to build my own tool called ButDoc.com.

My goal was simple:

make it fast

keep the interface clean

avoid annoying paywalls

allow people to use the core tools without registration

I’m still improving it and adding more tools regularly, but I wanted to share it here because some people might genuinely find it useful.
