Quite a few things lead me to believe this.

First of all when Imu first arrived, the trees and the wood started to demonically laughing

There was also a quote in the second world “the forest god tamed demons while the sun spread the fires of war” both mentioned in the same sentence. Forest and fires are antagonistic. The only two confirmed antagonistic parties in the second world we know is Imu and Joyboy. Joyboy was most likely the previous user of the Nika fruit.

Now regarding Chopper, he can tame demons and specifically turn them into more human. U can argue it’s a normal human fruit ability but I would like to go deeper than that.

Chopper is the good side of the forest. He can cure people of their sickness. While Imu represents the evil side of the forest, the poison as an example.

Another foil is, both Imu and Joyboy were very likely to have been friends one time, similar to how Chopper and Luffy are friends now.

The parrot theory would also be a good example to relate Imu to Chopper but we don’t have enough proof for that.

I do think just like there being two sides of Nika, there can possibly be two sides of other gods as well.

To be the forest god or just a natural opposite to imu who has a demon fruit.

Currently it stands at the 5th longest arc of the series tied with Skypiea. And it will very likely take over 4th position from Egghead and maybe even the 3rd position from WCL.

It really doesn’t feel as long as it did for some reason.

I think Oda is prioritizing action here more which makes for a difference I think. We’ve gotten multiple full action chapter fights which was rare in egghead and even in onigashima.

I’m wondering what made oda change his pace.

Villains on the level of Sommers and Killingham wouldn’t get anywhere near as much attention in onigashima or egghead.

I personally think the arc will likely end this way. I’m not 100% sure, but I do think this is the gist of how it should end for it to be a good conclusion. Set of events as follows:-

1. ⁠Imu goes to kill Gaban but is interrupted by Ussop who wants to save Gaban. Imu almost kills ussop. Consumed by anger, we see the new version of gear 5, the warrior of destruction. This version allows you to negate df powers of other individuals to an extent. The way how I see it is without sunlight the fruits can’t grow from a tree because tree also needs sunlight. We see it actively negating Imus powers and Imu starts to struggle.

2. ⁠Hybrid Loki joins the fight along with every available party. We get a full fledge battle between Imu and everyone.

3. ⁠We get a FB starting that he df Rocks wants were Yami Yami no mi and Ryu Ryu no mi model - Niddhogg. Rocks knew that Yami Yami no mi is not actually the real thing but instead it’s a Hito hito no mi - model Nika, warrior of destruction. Now this df allows you to access the powers of dark Nika without awakening the df. Rocks plan was to use that df to pause Imu from using his abilities and use the insane AP of the Niddhogg fruit to finish him once and for all. Ofc this isn’t how it went. We can see the FB Loki overhearing this convo, and it makes sense why he called himself the sun god at the beginning.

4. ⁠Now this is the far fetched guess, but I think the mother flame is created for the purpose of allowing the powers of Imu to stay active while fighting dark Nika or someone who has the Yami Yami no mi. Imu brings forth that flame and uses it to finish everyone off.

I’m not sure how Imu will leave but I’m 50% sure this is how things will go in the next 10-15 chs.

Lmk ur guys opinions.

Personally, I think it’s a bit too much. The hints are there I agree. But I don’t agree with the sentiment that one of the SHs who doesn’t even get enough screen time is becoming a god now.

I would much prefer if it’s just a counter to the Imus devil fruit. Chopper being the pure human fruit user allows him to turn other things into humans.

We know Imu is insanely weekend. It’s very likely we will get a jump piece with all the giants and Hybrid Loki and Serious G5 vs Imu. I personally don’t see Imu winning that fight.

I really have no idea how they will manage to beat him if Oda intends to maintain the notion (false or not) that Imu is indeed the final villain.

It’s very likely we may get a very very bold move by Oda to actually defeat Imu somehow. I personally hope it’s something smart not like we beat you fair and square.

I’m hoping Gunko has a way to get him out without having a major aura loss for one of the final villains.

Especially with the latest events. I don’t think kaido started bleeding this early.

It has only been mentioned once and even the god of war himself had a df. Is it just niddhog that’s the god?

It didn’t strike me as a genuine god like the other gods such as Sun, earth, forest, sea and rain.

Imu acted like he was alive. Is it possible he’s coming back and he maybe one of the future villains?
