I've never been more confident in a vehicle nearly 20yrs old.

Spent the weekend in the Bighorns and hit a few mild trails and creek crossings. About to hit 140,000 and it drives like a new truck.

Spark Plug Diagnostics

I've put about ten thousand miles on this '09 2.7 since getting it last fall and it's sitting at 138,000. After a cross country trip, I noticed the idle was just a tad rough (it ran like brand new when I got it) so today I cleaned up the throttle body and changed plugs. After it adjusted to the changes it runs pretty perfectly again, barely being able to feel vibration in the shifter while idling.

Enough bragging.

Why would it be that cylinder 1 & 2 grounds are worn much more than 3 & 4? Is there anything to note about the color or buildup on these? Photos are in chronological order. Thanks!

Who's running these on their 2nd Gen?

I'm considering a swap from the current polished aluminum wheels for these (other) 4Runner takeoffs i found super cheap, but I wanted to see if anyone else is running them on their white 2nd gen before driving the 2hrs to get them.

Archive Offroad AAL Installed

2009 4WD 2.7L 5spd Manual

A few months ago I installed factory bilstein shocks/coils from a 2023 TRD and got about .75" of lift up front, which nearly leveled the truck. I then put the camper top on and it was somewhere between level and squatting all the time, and felt floaty and top heavy.

I decided on the Archive AAL for $180 rather than going with all new leafs, and I'm happy with it so far. The truck is much more stable in the corners, and has much better handling offroad. I should stress than the ride quality wasn't compromised one bit, and it rides as smooth as ever. It gave me about 2" of lift which matches what was advertised along with the much improved stance. The springs came with new center pins and did not require new U-Bolts.

Would recommend.

Freshly completed rifle got sighted this past weekend 😌

This build started as what I believed to be an 8mm large ring mauser sporter I got very cheap. It turns out that it's an Erfurt 1916 K98a small ring, which makes finding certain things impossible. I had it rebarreled with a McGowen 6.5x55 barrel at 17.5", threw a Hogue overmold stock (which is a bit flimsy, but it was $120 and I had to mutilate it anyway) on it with a Timney. It shoots great, but I'm very curious as to what the velocity is at the muzzle due to the barrel length, and have yet to reach out to 300yds but that will come this week.

Depending on velocity I'll likely be trying the Lapua 3015fps 123gr Scenar out in hopes it will perform well in accuracy and as a hunting round (and not overpressure)
