I’ve noticed a pattern where I’m focused on some task, then something I see triggers a chain of related thoughts (for example, seeing roses might make me think of a friend, then someone connected to them, and so on). Sometimes this chain ends with a specific person.
Later, I end up seeing that same person or they approach me, which makes it feel like I somehow anticipated it.
Is there a known psychological explanation for this—like pattern recognition, attention bias, or coincidence—or is it just randomness that feels meaningful in hindsight?
