Skinny jeans will never go out of style for me
Good morning all,
I apologise if this type of post does not fit here but I was curious. If not, could someone, if they know, point me in the right direction.
I understand that Levi Strauss owns registered trademark rights for a red tab device - that little red rayon tab, blank or Levi's inscribed, is protected.
I've recently purchased a Freewheelers Type 1 1941 jacket, with a tab device on the chest pocket, inscribed, single sided, V WEST (I've attached a photograph). I found it peculiar considering Levi's:
Owns the tab device trademark;
Is notoriously aggressive in protecting its trademarks
Levi's in 2024 sued Fullcount and their retailers for infringement regarding a tab device placed on the pocket of their jackets and jeans. They also sued Brunello Cucinelli for tab placement. They are very territorial, perhaps rightly so.
How, then, can Freewheelers get away with using a tab device? Is is simply a case of them playing Icarus, and flying close to the sun before Levi's eventually melts their wax? Is there an agreement between them that is documented somewhere?
Interestingly, it seems retailers have learnt from the 2024 lawsuit and have commenced removing the red tab from pictures of the garments and description. This was the case from the store I bought my jacket from - Son of a Stag.
Very good raw denim, well used but with the mistake of not washing inside out and even worse, to think that the spin cycle "can no longer make the indigo bleed" even so, of my favorite pairs
Whats up r/LevisStrauss,
I’m thinking of picking up a pair of these jeans for Y6 of the Indigo Invitational. They’re on sale now and I think that price is about what I expect a pair of raw selvedge 501s to be.
My question is, anyone have any experience with these? They’re reported true-to-size, but I was thinking of sizing down in the waist for a trimmer fit. They don’t seem to shrink too much from what I am reading but aside from quick reviews there’s not much out there on these.
What are your thoughts on these? I’d love to hear your thoughts on these jeans if you have them.
Was pretty chuffed about it. I had those in my hands so fast. 200$ retail. They had a few other pairs of selveged but nothing that cool. And they fit pretty dang good to boot great dad jeans. Not made in japan but used Japanese loomed cotton per the tags :)
Thanks in advance
Found these at the thrift. Never seen tags like these before. They also have a huge rise and feel like raw denim.
Hello!
Last September I went to a Humana in Spain and thrifted this pair of old Levi’s for €8 which are currently my favorite set of jeans in the world. They have lovely red stitching on the pockets and on the front, and I absolutely adored the sticker in the middle. I’m pretty sure they’d be considered a straight cut. I almost didn’t pick them up at first, but saw they looked older and then fit magically!
I’m just curious for info about them. The tag is halfway down the left leg for washing instructions and says Levi Strauss & Co Europe. The left pocket is longer than the pocket on the right as well. They’re also a bit more coarse which I assumed was due to age and washing. Part of me thinks they’re some vintage knockoff, but just wanted to see what others thought? I have no intention of reselling them whether they’re real or fake, I just wish I could have a couple identical pairs lol!
Thanks in advance for any info! 🙏🏻
Edit - Thank you for letting me know they weren’t vintage, just curious about any other info!
Work these for 3 plus years and they have ages beautiful style and broken in nicely it’s been washed a million times and has a light fade
I have to rant: these are Levi 511, no stretch, 28x28, and they fit like a glove. I picked them up about 2 years ago and fell in love with the fit. Other colors seemed to fit differently. I went back to find more, and they were nowhere to be found. Now, it seems like all the 511s are some kind of flex and have way too much stretch for my liking. Why is the stretch taking over and the non-stretch becoming the normal?
Need help verifying if this is a legit Japan 501.
Everything seems fine except for some details. Got this for 33USD...

Currently owns 90s 501s and 578.
Is my body weird or do Levi’s pants nowadays not fit how they used to in the past?
I’m 6’0 180lbs kind of a slim/normal build and for the life of me I cannot find a pair of Levi’s that fit properly.
I normally range from 505, 514s
I wear a 32x34 or 32x32 but either length ends up being too long or too short. Wish they made 33 inseam.
But in today’s market holy hell, everything is BAGGY! Very annoying when I need to buy work clothes and everything fits like I can put 2 legs in one pant leg.
I want to try 501s but they’re practically the same pant as the 505. Even then they fit baggy on me.
I don’t have super skinny legs either so idk what the issue is.
I’ve tried wrangler, red kap, Carhartt and none of their “fits” of styles are to my liking.
Hi, I'm not that knowledgeable on Levi's stuff, so can anyone ID this jacket for me? Bought this back in 2023 straight from a Levi's shop. Thinking of selling as it is just too big for my body right now, but idk what the model of this jacket is called. Thanks! and yes I know it's quite dirty haha
Hello good people! I have these 501s that I love and am hopeful that someone can tell me more about them. They are a darker rinse denim and what I primarily love about them is that the denim itself is much thinner than most of my other Levi’s. I’m interested in buying them in different colors but want to know that it’s the same material. What am I looking for? Appreciate anything anyone can tell me. Thank you!
Need help finding out the exact style. Just curious because it stood out to me
