Where can you practice dirt bikes near Downingtown besides the usual tracks?

I’m in the Downingtown PA area and trying to find places to ride that aren’t limited to MX track practice days. I already hit the usual spots (Pagoda, Sleepy Hollow, Dutchmen, etc.) but they’re only open on certain days, which makes it tough to get consistent seat time.

Are there any year‑round places to practice? Trails, private land, single‑track spots, anything that’s actually rideable without waiting for a scheduled practice day.

If anyone local has suggestions for places you can ride basically anytime, I’d appreciate it.

Thoughts on 2024 YZ250f

I’m thinking of getting a used yz250f. It’s got 87 hours on it and has apparently been on a tight maintenance schedule with oil changes and everything. Plastics are fresh as well. To me 87 hours in two years seems to suggest it was ridden quite frequently and maybe even aggressively though I can’t confirm the latter. Listed price is $5,300.

What are yalls thoughts on the value proposition? I heard someone say that 100 hours on a bike is like 100,000 miles on a car. So the 87 hour mark seems to be pretty high.

Would it be worth looking for something with less hours? Alternatively, would it make sense to just get a new 2026 model? Given the upcoming overhaul for the 2027 model I’m reasonably confident I could get a 2026 model for around $9,250 out the door.

Anyway, would be great to hear your opinions as I’ve been going back and forth in my own head on this for longer than I had imagined. Time to make a decision.

Toyota Sienna to carry dirt bike?

I’m getting back into dirt bikes but due to other financial priorities, I don’t want to fully commit in terms of buying a van or and RV. Not yet anyways.

I have a Toyota sienna and am thinking of using a hitch carrier to haul my dirt bike (yet to be acquired). Does anyone here have experience using hitch carriers? Any recommendations? the black widow carrier seems like a solid option. Are there any concerns in terms of handling once thebike is mounted such as the front tires being less stable on the minivan ? Alternatively, would it be better to just get a trailer (covered or uncovered)?

Overall goal is to get back into practicing riding and then see whether it fits into overall pace of life. Thanks.

Kenny in qualifying.

What are yalls thoughts on Kenny’s top nine in qualifying? I know he’s done it plenty of times in the past where he qualifies in p6-p10 and seems unfazed by it. Then comes out swinging in the heat and main. But this time felt a little different. He was going for a fast lap multiple times, and on the last try his rear tire slid out in the sand and he shook his head. I think he’ll come out guns blazing regardless (a because he’s Ken Roczen and b it’s the championship night), but something tells me he might not have that elite speed tonight where he can be head and shoulders above the rest of the field.
