Repatha side effects?

So I finally jumped in and took my first dose. Actually had my second dose this week. Didn’t notice any side effects. I lift heavy weights and exercise pretty hard. I haven’t noticed anything related to that so far.

But at the end of last week I developed a dry unproductive cough. There’s basically a tickle constantly in the back of my throat. That’s been happening for maybe 4 or 5 days now.

Just curious if this is related and if anyone has experienced such effects.

Thanks for your input.

Took first dose yesterday. Nervous of side effects like heart issues.

I’m a younger male 37. Cac and CTA are both great. But high cholesterol total 315 ldl 212 has lead me to being. Statins worked exceptionally well for me. Took my ldl down to 27 on Crestor at 20mg. But the two different statins I was on raised my CK levels a lot. So I’ve started repatha.

I’m a bit of a hypochondriac to preface. I’m nervous about this medicine causing something serous like heart issues. I know that’s not exactly how it works, but that’s where my mind is going. Worried I might be an exception to something. I see stories about people who didn’t do well on it. I know to talk with my doctor about any concerns, which I will. But just wanted to get something from actual users.

Has anyone experience negative side effects from Repatha? More context inside. Thanks.

Crestor and another statin both elevated my CK pretty high. Zetia was doing a decent job at maintaining but it elevated my AST/ALT. So I was giving Repatha. Haven’t taken it yet.

One doctor said I’m a “hyper-responder”. For context my LDL was 212 and Crestor 20mg and zeta brought it down to 27. Stopped Crestor and stayed on zetia and it was around 112. Stopped the zetia. LDL is now 218.

Had familial test and it was negative.

I don’t know if I should just go back to zetia and diet better as the ast/alt may have only been elevated due to working out. I don’t drink also.

Or if I should just go to repatha.

Male, 37.

I had a Heart CTA with cac in 2024. CTA was negative for anything and CAC was 0.

My LPA is also 7 I think.

Thanks in advance.

Air hunger from tapering down?

I’ve been on 25mg for near half a year maybe. But I wanted to taper back down to 20 as I’ve been having lots of bruxism with it. I’m a coffee drinker and that just adds more stimulant for the grinding.

After near a week I started having air hunger. Just feeling like I can’t get a full breath. Oxygen is fine though. I’ve been back up to 25mg for the past two days hoping to alleviate the issue.

But I’m curious if anyone else experienced this. I didn’t know if 5mg could do that.
