A beautiful layering combo of Noir Extreme and Ombré Leather

Blind bought a bottle of Noir Extreme last month and it floored me. Beautiful scent, the kind you keep lifting your wrist to smell. My only gripe was that it leaned a little feminine and sweet for my taste.

So yesterday I tried something. I laid down Ombré Leather as a base and layered Noir Extreme over the top. My thinking was that the Noir Extreme would lift some brightness into the muddiness of the Ombré Leather, and the Ombré Leather would hand the Noir Extreme a darker, more rugged, manlier foundation to sit on.

Happy to report it did exactly that. If you own both, I REALLY recommend giving this a go. And let me know if you love it as much as I did.

Lack of support from Tinymight after loss of vapour production on my unit

It’s been around a week since I posted on here about the vapour production on my TM2 suddenly dropping drastically while in storage.

I took all of your advice and sent Tinymight a detailed mail with the invoice, problem at hand etc. but I still haven’t received a reply.

I’m very tempted to recalibrate but not sure if I should wait any more for their reply.

Honestly very disappointing! I paid 400£ for my TM2 and kept it in pristine condition always. It was the updated version too with the fixed button and sturdy internals. If my unit got faulty, I can only imagine it’s a lucky draw with little support from manufacturers

Probably why I recommend everyone go for butane vapes only from now on

Any advice on how to proceed from here?

Vapour production completely off

Hey guys I’ve been using my Tinymight daily for 6 months but recently got the tempest and haven’t touched my TM2 for the past month. I switched it on last week as my friends have come to stay over and I wanted something easy to operate and without the risk of burning. The Vapor production was super low even on setting 7.5 (I have kept this setting since using the tm2). I cleaned the stem too. The avb isn’t too toasted. Not sure what’s gone wrong.

Has this happened with anyone else?

Should I try recalibrating? How did the calibration go bad on its own sitting in my drawer?

Would appreciate any help ❤️

What's your favourite perfume house?

I love houses that stand for something and have commonality between their fragrances. I used to love tom ford but been disappointed at some of their offerings recently especially considering the price point. I used to enjoy MFK too but after I had a chance to try a few more I realised they have more misses than hits.

However I've been loving Creed and Profumum Roma more and more. Their range does not feel disconnected and especially I love how Roma has potent concentrations across their line.

Another one I really enjoy is Hermes! Niche quality, reasonable prices, interesting fragrances.

Excited to explore Dries Van Noten soon

interned at the accountants for two frag influencers, the money is insane

throwaway for obvious reasons

so last year i did an internship at an accountancy firm that worked with two influencers in the frag space. one is purely fragrance focused, the other is beauty lifestyle who also does fragrance content. both are names you’d recognise.

i saw the invoices. niche, designer, middle east houses, new small brands, all of them paying these influencers serious money for “reviews”. and i didnt see disclosure on their insta or youtube once. the apparent loophole was contracts running 1 or 3 months at a time (or even a full year), like that somehow means they dont have to mark individual posts as ads.

the houses youve been seeing pushed the hardest, the ones whose names keep getting thrown around in every other video, those are the ones paying the filthiest amounts. if youve been paying attention you can probably guess which ones

and the videos look SO real. the first-sniff reactions, the “oh wow this is actually amazing” face, the careful surprise. the acting is genuinely insane. these people should be in films.

couple other things worth saying:

• the classier houses (hermes etc) had zero invoices. they dont play this game it seems
• middle east houses and small new brands are throwing absurd amounts of money around
• barter is everywhere too. one brand sent ten bottles of a $600 fragrance as “payment”

Every single clone house seemed to want to sign on these influencers and happily paid them heavy for every video (one clone house invoiced 15,000$ for one YT video of the influencer giving “first impressions” of their fragrances)

and this was one accountancy firm. the whole industry is probably the same. these people should be getting audited

stop trusting frag influencers. the honest ones are way rarer than you think

EDIT: seems like the mods got the comments locked?
