Tru on Ditmars

Does any one know what is going on with Tru on Ditmars? Its been closed for months but the lights are on every night and it doesn't look like its going to be rented out. Seems odd that anyone could keep paying rent and electricity on a storefront when so many businesses cant keep their doors open.

Adding kitten to home with a shy cat

I fostered/adopted a cat last year. Jane was totally feral and unused to human contact. This was not known to us when we adopted her. After a year, she has warmed up but only very slightly. Instead of hiding all day she will now spend her day curled up in her basket in the living room. However, she still will not let us get near her, or even touch her. If we get close to her at all (within several feet) she will jump up and run away. For the last year I have been consistently working with her to socialize her (without traumatizing her) but progress is extremely slow and I sometimes think she will never be comfortable with me.

I feel bad that she has a very solitary existence. I would like to introduce a kitten so she could have a companion and hopefully seeing another cat interact and be handled by me may make her less afraid of me. I have a number of concerns about this:

First, that she will never adjust to the kitten and we will have to give the kitten back to the rescue.

The other is that Jane is very VERY unmotivated by food. She eats plenty but very slowly. I leave her dinner out at around 10pm and she eats it in bits and pieces overnight. She often will still be finishing up the last bits of it by 6am. How would I prevent a kitten from eating her food as well as its own?

Jane is a female cat (about 4 years old as far as we know). I've heard it would be best to get a young kitten of the opposite gender to minimize any threat/territoriality she may feel. Is this a good idea?

Please, any thoughts/advice/cautions would be very welcome.

In search of Chicken Picata in the neighborhood.

Hi everyone, I have family coming to visit from abroad and one of the things they requested was to try a chicken piccata. This actually is pretty difficult so if anyone knows of a good spot in astoria/lic with chicken piccata please lmk.

Here is every menu I've unsuccessfully checked so far:

  • Tufino
  • Figlia
  • Forno Siciliano
  • Vite Vinosteria
  • Il Nonno
  • Rialto Ristorante
  • Sotto La Luna
  • Alba's
  • Macoletta's
  • Via Vai
  • Palermo

My SNY stream went on break after the 3rd inning and didn't come back till the bottom of the . It just held on the SNY screen. Is this an issue anyone else is facing? This has happened to me once or twice before where SNY just seems to go to an ad break and not come back for an inning or more.
