Common confusing words

Hello,
I’m going to try to teach my neighbors’ kids the difference between two, to, & too. Another lesson is they’re, there & their. I’m also going to tell them how I remember which word is correct in my sentences. (We don’t live in a great school district, and I’m a nerd who loved diagraming sentences for fun in elementary school many years ago.)

Are there any other common homophone mix-ups or issues that you see often? If anything pops into your mind, will you please let me know?

If you have tricks that helped you learn the difference, I’d love to hear them.

Of course, I’ll google this issue & read back through texts for more grammatical & spelling issues to address that could help them throughout their lives, but Reddit came to mind because there are lots of you who love to correct comments on here. lol

Recently someone reminded me that “fewer” was the correct word when I typed “less” & I genuinely appreciated it! Thanks so much

keurig crap

It’s almost impressive how much the quality of the machines has decreased so significantly.

My first machine lasted over a decade & was well designed. Every replacement keurig machine is worst than the last.

Does anyone have any recommendations for high quality, long lasting, single serve coffee makers?

Conflicted

I recently fell in love with Poshmark. I placed six orders in the past month, and I’ve been feeling bad for sellers because I frequently read Reddit posts stating how Poshmark & clients make things hard for sellers.

Today I think I’m starting to understand why Poshmark is cracking down on sellers. Out of my six simple orders, there were issues with three. 50% is not a good track record.

Three orders were seamless & great. One order had a small issue, but the seller was amazing & tried to send free skirts for my inconvenience! I declined because I’m not trying to make anyone’s life hard. I’d buy from her again if she happens to have something I like & I haven’t deleted the app yet.

Another issue worked itself out - I’ll just buy new navy sandals to go with the navy sundress I received that was advertised as black. This one was also a little frustrating because the seller did not ship it within 7 days & didn’t respond to my message. I thought I was ghosted & almost ordered it from someone else. BUT the very SECOND my mail is delivered Poshmark bombards me with notifications to Get your mail! Rate the purchase! Buy more dresses exactly like that one!

Today was the straw that broke the camel’s back: I ordered a dress a couple weeks ago. The seller eventually sent me a message saying - I’m so sorry but I cannot find it. I replied graciously - No problem! I’ve probably bought too many dresses this month anyway.

She sent me pics of other dresses, but I declined & told her that I’ll take a look at her closet & see if I find anything I like in my size.

A week ago I was notified that she shipped something to me. I messaged her wondering if she found the dress. She still has not answered me, and today I received a dress nothing like the one I ordered.

I feel scammed. I opened my heart to Poshmark & now I’m broken-hearted. Im conflicted because there are great sellers, but the bad ones make it too risky.
