First time out spiral

So I got my first apartment yay. For almost a month I was hyper focused on finding a place since I was done with my mum's silent treatment. I'm a woman nearing 30 btw, been living at home cause Australian housing market is a complete cesspit, paying for all the bills but doing basically no housework. Now that I've got a place I realised that yes I am a big girl now, have already looked at connecting utilites and will be connecting soon. But problem is now I have to move onto furnishing the place and my brain really does not want to do that cause it involves talking to people and having to organise movers.

My new place does not have a dishwasher so I have been doing research into getting a benchtop dishwasher and how to search for tap fittings. I know I need a dishwasher as my brain will just let the dishes pile up which the sight of the piled up dishes will send into an anxiety spiral because things are piling up, which will cause more dishes to pile on.

I only have 3 things that I know I need to have in place within the first month of moving in which is a bed, fridge and dishwasher. I can barely focus, so I don't really know what else I might need other than things related to the 3

Advice for a first time renter

So I am a first time renter who just secured their first rental and I need some tips and tricks. What do I need? The place comes with a washer/dryer so I don't have to use the communal one (Landlord was really proud of that for some reason). No fridge or dishwasher. I just signed the agreement and sent the bond and first month rent.

Any budget tips, utility companies advice. I am really out of my depth moving out on my own in my 30s. My anxiety made sure I had at least a year's worth of saving in case I lost my job before I even thought of moving. But can anyone tell me if I should plan for any unexpected expenses when it comes to renting? What things are just plain unnecessary?

Thanks

Benchtop dishwasher

I'm moving into a rental that does not come with a dishwasher, any suggestion on a benchtop dishwasher that is idiotproof (me) and will not require any modification. Preferably one that I can just plug and wash ie one that I can just pour water into a container and stick the hose into the sink to drain.

Been on marketplace around my area and the ones there look like they need to be connected to some sort of inlet valve.

I'm in the process of moving out from home for the first time and I'm realising there are a lot of things that I took for granted that are available at home that I have to supply for myself when I move out in addition to the usual bills and utilities.

  • Cutlery/pots/seasoning/cups
  • Bed sheets/linen/towels
  • Household appliance- fridges/microwave/washing machines
  • random knick knacks

Would really appreciate if anyone can give me advice on how source a decent amount of linen/fitted sheets (3-5 sets) without burning a hole through my budget. I know I can get the appliances second hand through marketplace and what nots, but advice on what sort of stuff I should just not bother for a studio/1BR apartment is also welcome. I'm a big fan of the salvos dinnerware sets, I adore odd mismatch dishware so that is kinda covered, but cookware is a bit unknown.

For reference I'm in Melbourne

EDIT: I'm mainly after fitted sheets not the whole bed set. I sweat a lot a night and tend to run through them

I'm in the process on looking for my first rental as someone about to turn 30 and it is a struggle to find a place that is decent and not a musty room with a suspicious bathroom that looks like it will fall through the floor.

I'm currently looking around prahran area + surrounding suburbs for a place close to my work that will shorten the commute. But I'm not the only one who is doing this and I'm up against so many people with rental histories who will probably get picked over me.

Sorry if this is rambly, my brain is a mix of fried and frustrated. Any advice on how to make my application stand out of what to do is apprecitated
