Hi all, need some advice.

I recently got an offer and had already done signed it and HR confirmed received it. Problem is HR say the background check is ongoing and could take up to 1 month or more and they insisted i can start my resignation process in my current month to start serving my 2 months notice periods.

In this case, should i resign first or wait till an all clear? Discussed with HR and they insisted i do it quick as the background check never failed so far and to meet my commencement date which is 2 months from May 2026.
