Hi, I’m a graduated high school senior, becoming a freshman in the fall, and am struggling to decide between AFROTC and NROTC. My main goal is to commission as a pilot and that is where I am putting most of my energy towards. I have reservations about afrotc because I’ve heard it’s harder to become a pilot but I also have reservations about long deployments at sea with the navy. I have received both a 4-year NROTC and type 4 AFROTC scholarships, with the navy covering more, but fortunately money isn’t as much of a problem. I would be willing to fly any airframe so specifics don’t matter but also want to have other good options in case I don’t earn a pilot slot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
