Cedar Split Rail Fence Post Setting Questions
I'm going to be installing about 300' of cedar, split 3-rail fence on our property. The rails are going to be 10' long, and the posts will all be 6'6" tall with 30" being buried. We're going to have 3 gates, in various places, that each will be 3'6" wide.
When setting the line posts, I was planning on putting gravel at the base and then topping with soil. If I'm burying 30" of the post, how much gravel should I put vs top soil? Should I bore the hole deeper than 30" and put gravel under the post as well as around the base before the top soil?
When it comes to end, corner, and gate posts, should those be cemented in?
For the posts that should be cemented in, how much cement vs topsoil? Should I put gravel under the cement for water egress? If so, how much gravel vs cement vs topsoil?

Split Rail Fence Gate Question
My wife and I are looking to build a split rail fence to help define our new house's borders a bit better. We're planning on going with Cedar for the wood, and were also planning on securing the posts 30" in the ground with gravel and tamped soil instead of concrete (I like the flexibility to be able to pull the posts and redefine boundaries if they shift in the future).
My question is about where we were going to place a gate. We're going to place 3 gates (2, 3ft gates and 1, 10ft gate). I'm fairly certain that the 3ft gate posts will be fine with the gravel and tamped soil but what about the posts for the 10ft gate? Would there be too much strain on the posts without concrete?
Thanks!
How much to feed per snake weight range?
I know we've all seen this graph; as a new snake owner, it's quite handy for figuring out how much to feed our growing noodles. My baby is just about to shed and just measured in at 24 grams.
It might be a bit of a dumb question but when the 'feeder size' column lists a weight, is that how much total food weight the snake should eat during their meal or how much the individual feeder type should weight?
For example: If I had a snake that weighed 150g, but I, for some reason, only had pinkies that weighed 3.5g a piece. Could I feed that snake 5 of those pinkies to total 17.5g instead of one weanling?
Continue feeding normally when shedding is coming up?
My new girl (I got her in March 2026, I think she was born in November 2025) has gotten cloudy eyes so she should finally be about to shed.
But I was wondering, do I continue to feed her on her normal feeding schedule or should I wait until she finishes shedding to resume feeding?
(picture DOES NOT show her cloudy eyes, it's just a cute picture for attention)
I've never purchased a rolling carry-on before and I think it's finally time. I've landed on Bellroy's Transit Carry-On or Carry-On Large/Plus. I fly domestically in the US, 99% of the time, but would love the option for some European travel without checking a bag. On Bellroy's site, they list possible compatibility, for the Transit Large, with a lot of European airlines and some US airlines but I'm unsure how likely it would be that I'd need to check it. I'm also unsure how much the additional 5L of storage actually equates out to in real world use. Thoughts? Thanks for your input!
