Why would the pharmacist need DEA number from my doctor for a refill?
I had my usual follow up for my valid, and very legal prescription of phentermine. My normal primary doctor wasn’t available for my follow up and I asked the nurse if it’s ok to see someone else in the office and that it won’t cause any issues; she said no problem. I see a new doctor, she prescribes me my next refill and then I have the pharmacy calling me saying they can’t refill it due to state restrictions. (Or I thought because she’s not my primary) The provider I saw said she re-sent the rx and that they had to fix something on their end. Then the pharmacy calls back and says the Rx will be ready by the end of the day, THEN they call back again saying sorry they need a DEA number from my doctor to refill it. Seem weird to anyone? The original doctor wasn’t very nice to me and I feel like I’m being setup or something. Am I now flagged as doing something wrong, even though I did nothing wrong?
