Owner’s update

I did my first owner’s update since owning resale for 5 years. Usually HGVC declines offering me update since I bought resale. 60k HH or $175gc plus 2nt stay for update.

Offered me $31k to convert my 8k points to MAX. Maintenance fees would be lower, no reservation fees, dining credit $50/day with MAX. Converting changed my home resort so it lowered MF by $500/yr if I remember correctly. Thats 62 years to even recover $31k, I’m not including reservation fees and dining credit since $31k invested has a higher rate of return. I replied no for same points and $31k.

2nd offer was $14k for 2500 EOY to try MAX. My old resale deed unchanged.

3rd offer was MAX VIP for $1,799 for 11500 points. Plus 130k HH points. this guy was too arrogant even though I was considering extra points just to go places. Point value was cheap. I would have bought this to add couple of trips 😆

Dining season pass not showing up

After the mobile app update, my dining pass fell off my app/ticket.

My teen went to six flags and restaurant couldn’t find ticket so she paid. I called since I wasn’t at six flags and customer service said ask for restaurant manager. Manager can call guest services to verify dining pass and refund meal.

Guest services said they see dining passes on our season passes. Their system is messed up and sometimes restaurants cannot see it. How can this be fixed? I don’t want to go to guest services each time. Restaurant managers aren’t helpful.

$199 vacation package sales

I bought the package at concierge inside hotel since employee said HGVC members can. 3night stay and sales presentation.

The fine terms say HGVC members aren’t allowed to buy it. Can I call for a refund? Has anyone done package as a member? Will they link system and know I’m a member?

Liability for mixed family

We are blended unmarried family who live together on one insurance policy, broker recommended. Most cars’ title are under my significant other and my own car is under my name, I drive it.

If step-kid gets in car accident, am I liable for lawsuit if step-kid at fault? I am not on title of car while I am one of policy holders. No accident but I was wondering how it works. I have one adult step-kid and one minor step-kid driver.

My own adult kid is on her grandparents policy & car’s title is under grandparents, so I assume I am not liable for accident if at fault. All kids going to college/high school and we support them financially.
