AI and Fanfiction Journalism Research

Hello everyone, I'm a freelance journalist currently working on a story about the impact of AI in fandom spaces, particularly on fanfiction websites, both for writers and readers.

I'm really interested in getting some genuine opinions, both from anti and pro-AI users of these spaces. If you're interested in participating, you can fill out this form (https://forms.gle/Z5UzbU4qLvUJx35y6), which should take 2-5 minutes. Or, alternatively, if you are open to having an ordinary conversation and sharing some more of your thoughts, drop me a message, as I would love to hear from you.

Having loved this space since I was a spotty teenager, I am so passionate about these spaces and would be delighted to chat more or simply have some respondents from my form, if you have any time to spare.

Thank you all!

Consent and Coercion in the NHS

There's been so much talk recently in the news about maternity care in the UK/ I'm a journalist currently working on my masters' final project and, following a personal experience during surgery, I decided to investigate the problem of informed consent, but specifically in maternity care.

If anyone has a personal story concerning coercion or lack of consent during their maternity care in the NHS that they would be willing to share, I would be very open to hearing it. Wishing you all the best.

Consent and Bodily Autonomy in the NHS

Hello all, I'm a student journalist currently working on a project concerning consent in gynaecology and obstetrics in the NHS, following a personal and difficult experience during surgery.

Following multiple conversations with mothers for a previous investigation I did, I found so many women felt they had little control over their bodily autonomy in medical situations, whether it be during labour, IUD insertion or pelvic examination. I felt that this space may be one for people with similar experiences, and I really feel it is a story that needs telling.

If anyone in the UK would be comfortable sharing their story with me for the purposes of shedding light on what I think is an extremely important issue, I would love to speak with you. Thank you all very much for reading.

Consent and Bodily Autonomy in the NHS

Hello all, I'm a student journalist currently working on a project concerning consent in gynaecology and obstetrics in the NHS, following a personal and difficult experience during surgery in my own attempt to get diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Following multiple conversations with mothers for a previous investigation I did, I found so many women felt they had little control over their bodily autonomy in medical situations, whether it be during labour, IUD insertion or pelvic examination. I feel that in this space, there may be many other people who have experienced similar things, and I really think it is a story that needs to be told.

If anyone in the UK would be comfortable sharing their story with me for the purposes of shedding light on what I think is an extremely important issue, I would love to speak with you. Thank you all very much for reading.

Informed Consent under the NHS

Hello all, I'd like to preface this by saying that, I am a student journalist, but that I have gone through some very complicated healthcare problems to get both to this space, and to this request.

Last month I had a laparoscopy, following considerable menstrual problems throughout my life, and while everything went well, during it something happened that I had not felt I had consented to. It got me thinking about the ways that women's bodies are so often carelessly touched and how our decisions over our own autonomy are so often discarded.

I am hoping to create this into a story, to share not only what happened to me, but other women in the UK, too. I really think this is an underlying issue, not only because medical misogyny is already so rampant, but because we so often talk about the problems women face as separate issues - but violation in any manner is not always an individual problem, it can be intertwined with other kinds of misogyny that women face.

If anyone in the UK would be comfortable sharing their story with me for the purposes of shedding light on what I think is an extremely important issue, I would love to speak with you. Thank you all very much for reading.
