When do Malawi Hawks start to color up?
When did you guys get your hawks to color up? Got this hawk as a supposed male at 5” it’s about 5.5” now. I can see a shimmer of blue every so often but I’m suspecting it’s a female.

Hey guys just recently had 3 fish in my 200g come down with internal parasites/bloat. Thought I caught it early enough. I took them out and put them in my spare 10g tank with a cycled sponge filter to medicate them (they weren’t eating). Started dosing Seachem metroplex to the water and all 3 died one by one within 48 hours.
I filled it with tank water from my main, even dosed with stress guard before adding them. Is it even worth isolating sick fish if it’s just going to fast-track their death? Maybe I’m doing something wrong. Still learning, so let me know!
I’m 25M working in the electrical industry for reference. I’ve managed to build a reputation of a hard worker who gets things done efficiently in the workplace.
Recently I’ve been working on a different crew and have noticed a clear case of favoritism from the boss. Me and a few other guys on the crew come into work every day and get a lot of good quality work done. Whereas The boss and her 2 favorite people on the crew can usually be seen standing around and talking. I notice the boss usually puts these two on the easy tasks and lets me and the other guys do the shitty tasks 24/7. Along with that these two get rides from the boss out to the parking lot every day, leaving the rest of us to walk.
I’ve noticed this trend for a while and it’s really starting to make me question why I give any effort at all? I feel like I bust my ass and make the crew look good and management will say they care but clearly never show it to the ones that actually get the work done.
Has anyone ever experienced this type of thing before?
Took my AC addiction to the next level and am looking to breed some fish! Planning on getting some zebra obliquidens, deep water hap and dragon blood OB groups and switch them out.
Hey! I have a planted 29 gallon tank that I want to convert to an African cichlid fry tank. The issue is it has regular gravel and I want to match the parameters of my other AC tanks with the aragonite substrate. My hope is to keep the gravel in the 29 because it’s already cycled.
Would I be ok just adding a bag of aragonite or coral into my HOB filter and dosing additional buffer/lake salts when water changing? Or do I really need to take out all the existing gravel and replace it with aragonite sand.
